  2. @tomparryharry any joy mate please?
  3. If you do i can pick them up if ok with you as I'm cardiff anyway
  4. Hi everyone, Wonder if you can help please as I know this is a great site with a wealth of knowledge, I'm after the couplings (tension lock) code number BL 1990-350 for a Bachmann class 04 D2334, however I cannot get them for love nor money anywhere, I've tried everywhere inc peters spares ebay, I even tried the new Bachmann spares site not a sausage on there Does anyone know where I can get them please or have any spare (i'm willing to pay) Many thanks in advance Cheers Rob
  5. Guys, if you are local to lendons and need spares, please drop rob a email and he will get them ready for you, ideally give him some notice though, I'm in no way affiliated to lendons just a very happy customer who is local to the shop
  6. Sealed ones are Bachmann only 1 manor, 1 43xx, 1 peak, 1 class 24 and 1 x 25, and no, but it would be nice to replace brushes. Surely they can make one that is RF compliant
  7. Just had it confirmed by Hornby as I spoke to the technical bods, it is loco drive (my apologies) and he said the catalogue is wrong, I'm a bit miffed about the 47 and warship not being ringfield type, however there is something in the pipeline regarding motors you can service again....... watch this space I think, I will buy the warship but will remotor it as its using lima tooling
  8. think I might actually, I will ring them tomorrow as off all next week on leave 😁
  9. according to the catalogue, it states both the SDJR and the railway children 4f's are tender drive and I was gobsmacked when i was reading through my new catalogue, I only got it at 13:30 ish yesterday
  10. ok, how come the description mentions tender drive in the catalogue then?
  11. I can assure you that the new 4f 0-6-0s are tender drive as its in the catalogue.
  12. having said that scott, they need to start producing models with serviceable motors esp with the current cost of living crisis and the availability of parts etc, having said that, they are bringing out a brand new 4F tender loco with tender drive, and i've checked the service sheet and it has replaceable brushes
  13. they may have got around that issue, we dont know, when it comes out i will look at my local model shop
  14. I've noticed that their railroad plus 47 has the same gears as a lima 47, and the warship has, I really do hope they are going back to serviceable motors again, if so I will gladly part my money for 1 x green 47 and 1 warship, also some blue GUV's as well
  15. twizell actually ran trains at beamish till about 1979/1980,
  16. also drippy doesnt like anything that is sensible, I cant stand that bloke we need coal
  17. hmmm, I've just looked at the Hornby railroad plus class 47, and I could see gears exactly like the lima motor (small geared) i'm wondering (hoping) they are going back to the lima motors that can be serviced, if they are great then I will gladly part my money
  18. With all due respect, and fyi not throwing the toys out of the pram. They seem to cater for certain eras but not others, we are customers too
  19. disappointed big time, No pre tops blue stuff and no first generation dmus, Fed up with this. sort it out Bachmann, there is more to BR than pre 1965 steam and modern image, and Hornby are not getting away scot free either
  20. gaugemaster oil i use
  21. im wondering if they have re-introduced the lima mech, if so I will be a happy bunny
  22. With the warship that Hornby have brought out (the only thing I might buy), What motor is in it? as they said has a 3 pole motor with simple gearing? does that mean a serviceable motor ex lima? cheers rob
  23. hi dave, can you re-upload the ones you taken at beamish please mate, as the ones you uploaded previously are not loading (due to site issue a while back) and any more of beamish pls Cheers Rob
  24. I'm going to stick my oar in (no pun intended). With Regards to lima, I actually like their models, well the later smaller geared motors which my entire lima fleet consists of as ive even managed to re motor the westerns and warships with the later low ratio motor so to improve their reliability. the motors can be serviced and actually made to run well which i've managed to do, just by re-wiring them and tweaking here and there. Both Hornby and Bachmann need to produce motors that can be serviced and not just sat there doing nothing when failed so one of the reasons i'm not buying new. Regarding pricing I think both Bachmann and Hornby are getting too expensive now £75 for a coach 🤦‍♂️, and its getting to the stage they are pricing people out of the hobby and they dont produce what people want.
  25. sorry to hear this, hope everything turns out ok it is getting harder and harder, I try to support my local model shop (lendons) much as I can
