  1. Thank you, I shall endeavour to get there. Chris.
  2. Not a modelling post, but one of my happiest visits to the North York Moors line, was when I went to visit my Dear Friend Coachbogie. We went to the top of Goathland shed to see, in light steam, the surviving Q7. I spent a great weekend being hauled by her. The sound of her attacking the bank and seeing her pound through Beck Hole is a lasting memory. I don't suppose I'll see her in steam again. Great shame! This layout is a joy and I hope to see it in the flesh at some point. Please keep the videos coming, they are a joy. Regards , Chris.
  3. I hunted this loco for a long time when I took shots on 'The Park'. I found it shunting a rake of 'Airfix' tankers into the ESSO refinery. This was the only time I saw anything move on these sidings. I wish I'd taken shots of the tank wagons sitting on these rails. There was' at least, one timber framed tank wagon left. I am trying to caopture this weathered finish on my Hornby model. Chris.
  4. Here's the prototype working on Trafford Park. Sorry the shots aren't top quality. Regards, Chris.
  5. Clive, I'm surprised you haven't posted a Kursal Flyers tune. That cafeteria car looks interesting. Were the coach sides metal or the origional sides modified? All The Best, Chris.
  6. Great to see the Dormans Sentinels are getting closer to being a kit. Looking forward to getting two of those, Mike. Regards, Chris.
  7. Yes, I'm afraid they are. MAJ kit LMS bogies are worth getting. Plastic and Romford coach wheels fit fine. I assume the Hornby LMS bogies are just as expensive. Peter's Spares is where I go to get my bogies. Regards, Chris.
  8. Get the Bachmann bogies, they rock and run really well! Regards, Chris.
  9. Looking good Dave. Watching with interest!! Regards, Chris.
  10. That's a cold Bristol!! I remember 1981, the diesel in our tractors froze in Wiltshire. I could bleed a Ford tractor engine in 15 minutes. Field Marshall engines never bunged up, however!! I remember one of my agric. college lecturers, Dereck Sadler, thawing out one of the Ferguson 35's on his small holding, by lighting a bale of straw underneath it!!! It worked and he didn't burn down his Dutch Barn either!! Regards, Chris.
  11. Dave, you are remarkable. As a stubborn sod myself, I completely understand why you are sticking with this. Regards, Chris.
  12. I like the look of that motor. Could you post a link please? Regards, Chris.
  13. OK, here are the shots. I apologise if my photography's a bit dodgy. When Mike origionally built them, they were fitted with the GEM Flexispring bogies for the outer bogies. Over the years, these 'things' got worse and worse. Mike rebuilt them for me, with Bachmann LMS bogies. If I'm building LMS stock, they are , now , my go to bogies. I'm happy with them. The last shot is a Tony Hammond LMS lounge brake. Mike built this from a set of etches purchased at Bristol Mod Ex. It runs in my Manchester Executive train . This runs round the Manchester Loop carrying business people from Manchester Olham Road. At least, in my mind it does. Regards, Clive. Chris.
  14. I'll take the shots today. I've been given a kicking by my covid booster shot, so a day off work, unfortunately.
  15. Photos of the underframes Mike built. If you want shots of the bodies, please tell me.
  16. Those are damn tasty Clive. You need the underframes sorting. I got two brake/third artic twins off Dereck Lawrence. My dear feiend Mike/Coachbogie, built them for me. Lawrence provided standard trussrods, Mike scratched the central trussrods, from the pictures in Jenkinson's LMS coach volume. Regards, chris.
  17. Your layout always reminds me of Sanderson's Sidings. A location on the old LNWR line from Manchester to Tyldesley. The Sidings was Tyldesley side of Worsley Station. It was the exchange for the Bridgewater Collieries lines and BR. As a little boy, Dad and I used to walk there for a summer's evening's spotting. The location was very like your layout. The trains came past in front of us, with the added excitement of coal trains being shunted off the main line, as well as the industrial traffic. Austerities and NSR New L 0-6-2 tanks picking up trains. JINGS that's 54 years ago!!! Regards, Chris.
  18. A good idea Corbs my friend. Problem is, they are bloody pricey for somebody like me on a budget. Looking on Ebay, there are very few cheap ones. I remember my first Pug bought from the wooden shed model shop at Didcot on a night shoot, for £19. Way back in the mists of time. Still running, but with an Ultrascale replacement gear wheel and a cut down cab.
  19. Nice line up of classic British aeroplanes. Jav., Lightening and Gnat. Those tankers are the business. Regards, Chris.
  20. I know exactly what you mean Mike. I ended up with one of these lovely beasts after some chemo therapy. There is no way she would have turned up at Brewery Sidings shed, Manchester. A massive application of Rule one, means that she works trip freights round Manchester, This is a truly aesthetically pleasing design. I love her! Chris.
