  1. Most people think the media is reasonably credible until they write about a subject the reader has some knowledge of, and then they become woefully uninformed.
  2. Nar, they'll use a fleet of small boats and hire them out to magnet anglers...
  3. It's no good guessing your settings, each printer is different. I suggest using UVTools to get the basic settings: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRbZw6GbGCI and Cones of Calibration to check they will work. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5416700
  4. I once knew someone who managed this in P4. He used strips from a plastic milk bottle to make the spring leaves.
  5. 'Fog around Dawn' sounds like someone in the Met Office got upset with her.
  6. Like this? Found in the detritus on my bench, other sizes may be available.
  7. People have tried that with musical instruments -- piano, cello, drumo, cornetto.
  8. Or maybe, because they have decided to replace the head spans, they've realised they can't do it one line at a time.
  9. ...and the one behind is a B12/3 - another Gresley Thompson re-boilering of a Great easter Railway design. That's better...
  10. Is this someone you know?
  11. But did you know that it was the Lizard people who invented plastics? It was buried in big pits and has all changed over time into the oil we use today.
  12. Do you reckon the coal would still be there by the time they started dredging?
  13. That is one thing that has not happened, maybe because it needs proficiency in CAD that is difficult to obtain quickly. Companies are working on machines based on the techniques used in offset litho printers, which might be the way forward.
  14. Are you not including curve radius in your calculations?
  15. Not difficult, you just need a pair of these: https://www.cousinsuk.com/product/half-round-flat-nose-pliers
  16. There are not enough customers to make taking wagon kits to shows worthwhile. Or at least too many potential customers have bought themselves Leeds trousers. You know the ones where the pockets are too tight to get their wallet out.
  17. I believe that Colin Seymore is now the only manufacturer of steel buffers, so you will have to wait until he finds his round tuit.
  18. The one thing that will change this is the ability to print with a coloured surface layer, allowing liveried models to be produced. It is possible to do this now, but the material used is not particularly robust. It's fine for static models but has problems with models that are likely to be handled.
  19. Ah, so. The feminisation of society has caught up with model railways?
