  1. I can honestly say I have never seen a picture of a class 29 displaying a propper headcode. Usually mainly dots with the odd letter or number. Did they just not use them in the Scottish region?

The personal touch makes all the difference does it not!

Well Dave, I'm seriously impressed! You can't ask for more that that could you? Jim
  4. The Buntingford branch sequence in colour is also on the Modern Traction classic archive volume 4 near the beginning. Its only about 15 seconds long and you only get a brief glimps of the outside. Most is taken from the cab.

    Hornby B1

Oooh! It looks like a Bachmann B1 with rubbish wheels!

    Hornby B1

The photos I've seen look like they are using the finer knobs. The painting and lining look sharp as a razor too, and with the more realistic looking wheels than the Hornby model, I cannot see a reason why anybody would want to fork out £30 more for the Hornby model over the Bachmann.

They can take forever for all I care. Hell will freeze over before I buy one for wasting yet another oppotunity for more classes. Wheres my B16 Mr Hornby?
  8. I think the sentinal and beattie well tank have shown that narrow interest locos can and do sell very well even at a premium price. I expect Bachmann and Hornby will be wise to this.... With yet another player now in the mainstream with Dapol, and You moving in there too, I predict things are going to get very interesting over the next decade. I just need to perswade the Mrs that its actually an investment...

Did D6300s,D600s and the D6100s all have the same wheels? If so that will add greatly to your possiable orders.

You'd have thought that would have worked. I've used a similar method when spraying a body that the windows are not removable. I must have just been lucky.....

I know your just pulling his leg, but a definitive 37 is still in the wanting???

    Dapol Class 22

I think the only option for you is to make your own windows to fit. A fiddly task for sure, but what else can you do... what did you use to mask the with?

    Dapol Class 22

Thanks for that Dave, like I said I haven't got one as yet, I've only been able to go by the pictures of the models.
  14. Am I right in saying that the entire class were withdrawn for refurbishment before any gained a small yellow pannel? Jim

    Dapol Class 22

I've yet to find a decent colour picture of a clean green one with black grills as of yet....
  16. i managed to get one off ebay for a reasonable price. I was supprised to find it has the old fashioned copper coloured wheels. I thought they abandoned them with the early hymeks.....Looks like I'll have to order some replacements from Howes.
  17. I can only tell you this much, D8233 is a B****** to work on! To do any work on the engine means you have to try and climb up and lie on top of it, and its extremely uncomfortable. Theres no room anywhere except in the genny compartment, and nothing ever happens in there...BTH unbustable electrics
  18. If they are going to permenantly change the tooling, you'd have thought they would have doen the one with the limited lifespan and livery options first, or will it be modified to take interchangeable noses?
  19. I wonder how they make the casting tools for the body of models now? If they are made by hand still I pity the guy who has to make all those lovres! Its kind of hard to believe these locos managed to suffer from overheating with all that ventilation!
  20. Now this is what I call a PROPPER mark up! Sold at the vectis auction on the 5th of November for £580 which with fees works out at £719.20 if i've got me maths right. Now look at it! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=370557765330 Good 'ole Gostude!
  21. The wheel base is different as is the engines length I doubt theres anything they can carry over.
  22. I think it was Modern Traction Classic Archive volume 4. I need to dig out my VCR and watch it to be sure! I'll get back to you....

I ordered D6327 so I havn't seen one in the flesh yet, but from pictures I've seen of the model, it looks like the small grills are painted black. If this is so, shouldn't they be green? I've not found a picture of a clean 22 in green with anything other than green painted small grills.
  24. Thats not the one. Theres some colour incab footage with run bys at the start. I've got it somewhere, I'll have a root and see if I can find it out. If you go on the transition liveries special interest page on here, theres links to colour pictures of all the class members.
