  1. I’ve got some Farish RMBs (blue/grey and InterCity), one RU and one RFO (both blue/grey) so I doubt very much I’d be buying another coach with a red stripe. In fact, I didn’t even know there were any other types.
  2. It’s just a dirty blue/grey BG. Lots of mail and parcels trains used that platform (9, as was). It was the closest platform to the Royal Mail depot on the north side of the station.
  3. There is a note on the airfield chart that states “Aircraft landing on runway 27 must proceed to the end to vacate, unless otherwise instructed by ATC”. For a 737-800 to land on runway 27 and vacate at taxiway Foxtrot, I would imagine the braking would have had to have been on the aggressive side 😳
  4. Yes, me! Any of them would be good (although a “Royal Train condition” 484 or 500 would be my choice) but if they did a special box set of all four I’d be up for that too.
  5. Great picture! There can’t have been many spilt headcode tractors that got their noses under Paddington’s train shed.
  6. This image made me look twice. Until I’d scrolled down to the bottom, I did wonder why you’d posted a picture of one of the towers in Bologna, Italy…
  7. With that being the case Adam, is it possible that you’ll be offering the new version body shells as a spare part for anyone who has the original version and just wants to swap the new, better body shell onto it?
  8. Looks like 4L43 Washwood Heath to Harwich Parkeston Quay. Was often booked for a crew change/swap with the corresponding empty working 4M34 at Reading in the small hours.
  9. Well, that’s another possibility, of course 🙂 I thought the 56 was ok; not brilliant but reasonable, but it’s still surprising that a retool is being undertaken when it’s less than ten years old.
  10. Hopefully they’ll do the same with the Class 50s. It’s streets ahead of the old Farish model but not quite there looks-wise.
  11. I’m sure I rode on one of these sets on an InterCity Luxury Day out in around 1990. Is that possible? If so, I’d be up for a set of these for charter purposes.
  12. Try this Kevin: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_rail_accidents_in_the_United_Kingdom
  13. In Red for Danger by L.T.C. Rolt I’m sure there’s mention of a head on collision at Menheniot in the 19th century. Can’t remember if passenger trains were involved or if there were fatalities though. Not at home right now so can’t check.
  14. Indeed it is! In the InterCity era Pullman rakes appeared in the West Country on Summer Saturday cross country services so these coaches wouldn’t just appeal to WCML modellers.
  15. It’s not the best quality but this video shows the layout in 1988, a few minutes from the end.
  16. Has anyone seen the Whacky Signs thread recently?
  17. This one should be popular with some of the more particular members of this forum…. available at www.redmolotov.com
  18. I do. Some of us have standards, I’ll have you know. 🤔
  19. If you haven’t heard of Revolution Trains by now you would have to be someone who does not do any of these: Read model railway magazines Go to model railway exhibitions Have membership of a model railway club Visit model shops Use the internet to research current and/or forthcoming models Use RMWeb Use the N Gauge Forum Have membership of the N Gauge Society Use Twitter Use Facebook Model in OO, N or O gauges Do such people exist? I very much doubt it unless they are reclusive, self-sufficient scratch-builders of the pre-BR era in which case Revolution Trains products won’t be of interest to them anyway. How do you think they could spread the word any better than they already do? Honest question.
