  1. I thought I would reserect this, as I have always been really interested in rare workings. (I have never counted rail tours as a rare working) I came across 20001 and 20016 at Reading during may 1985 I have also just found this http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/p726940309/h3D8F95CA#h236f071a Running through a few in my head... Someone posted up a pic of 40001 at Eastleigh on here recently. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/81988-class-40-pics-and-detail-differences-in-the-class/page-6 Also those 45s that worked to Brighton briefly were very unusual http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/p726940309/h3D8F95CA#h373de496 50020 worked out of Kings Cross in 1978 I saw a Scot rail 47 at Bristol once A few pics were posted up of the odd 40 at Bristol The 2 73s to Birmingham are on here Another http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/p726940309/h3D8F95CA#h3594c1ee 37109 at Brighton http://andygibbs.zenfolio.com/p726940309/h3D8F95CA#h9f841a4
  2. Ok I now have the rails and jig. I have a Bachamnn class 25 to make the rails for. (before I start my thread on weathering it) Has anyone got any tips please? I have never replaced hand rails before. Do I take the body off? How do I affix them? From the back inside the body - or do I just slot them into the existing holes with out body removal? Thanks Steve
  3. Here is some to start with. I will put more pics up in the coming days. VDA Railfrieght Interfrigo Ferry Van SR CCT VDA Grampus Brake Van 20T Grain wagon OBA Railfrieght Tube Wagon
  4. One of my favourite layouts. I Always enjoy the pictures
  5. Hi I am currently detailing 25190 and 47076 I require cab handrails for both. Preferably nickel but could be brass. My understanding is 0.45mm is the right width. I am not sure how I would bend this accurately to 90degrees at each end. So can anyone help. Does anyone know of a supplier that can provide ready made cab hand rails for a 25 and a 47? Thanks (The 25 is Bachmann - The 47 in Heljan)
  6. Thank you. OK that has made my mind up I will buy 97407 and renumber it.
  7. Does any one know if Bachmann plan to produce a blue class 40 with disc headcodes? As I would like a couple. Not 97407 but a run of the mill example? I should say a new version not an older version. How much of an improvement is the new version over the older model Someone on here has kindly offered me 40075. If I compared it to one of the latest versions of the class 40, is there a huge difference?
  8. Strangely we have the same three identical interests. I am a fitness/martial arts guy. I drive a track car and I model railways.
  9. My favourite thread on here Keep posting the pics please I lived in Bristol from 1984 until 1992 And made trips down to china clay land to see the 37s on and off
  10. I agree with this. I have a £100 limit in my mind for a loco. Once this figure is passed I might still well purchase ....but it must be just right. I was going to order a blue 73 but this thread stopped me. Class 73s I saw regularly at Faversham station in 1982 did not have lemon yellow ends. It is a real shame as the detail on the model, as all agree, is excellent.
  11. Great Atmosphere Enjoyed the pics
  12. I very much appreciate the input all. Thanks And Eastwestdivide ...lovely photo (Thanks for the offer. I might get one of the Hornby ones and see if I can improve it in some way, if I do I will let you know)
  13. I am trying to recreate a class 47/33 Dover hauled freight trains of the 1980s. Would any of these ever have appeared? http://www.ehattons.com/57655/Golden_Valley_Hobbies_GV6003_Ferry_Wagon_with_Railway_Transportation_corps_WD_markings_HO_Scale_/StockDetail.aspx So far I have one of these as a start point http://assets.catawiki.nl/assets/2015/1/9/8/b/5/8b56e47e-9819-11e4-9969-6f4ccf84eb2f.jpg If you have any links to where I can purchase suitable vans that would be appreciated, as they are not exactly easy to find. would like to find a couple of these http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/uploads/gallery/album_1799/gallery_6971_1799_23694.jpg Thanks Steve
