  1. Just paid the deposit, got the email and paid it the same night. Good luck Dave, I'm pleased this is going ahead
  2. Hi - apologies in advance if this question is stupid. Will the Crossrail units be getting yellow warning panels on the front?
  3. Thanks Dave much appreciated :-) It's really good how like your customers to be involved in the design of your models :-) Thanks for answering my questions Matt
  4. Hi Dave I really hope this comes to fruition for you. I know it's very early but two questions if I may please: 1) Will this be like the Dapol Western and have customer involvement all the way through the design process? 2) With the original triple grey livery will you be doing short runs in say EPS/SNCF as well as BR markings? Good luck and if this happens I will get at least one.
  5. Thanks James I'll do that with "The Intercity Story" and send you a cheeky photo of the complete coach (es) thanks
  6. Hi James I'm doing an internal repaint/detailing job on my mid 90s HST is there any chance of some photos of yours please, particularly the buffet car? Sorry to be cheeky but I've been inspired by your efforts to a have a go at mine!!

  8. jjb1970 and Andy Y - you've both summed up APT-E!!! It is the railway's Concorde, Blue Bird, Saturn V rocket and it comes from that time glorious time when we were experimenting with the "white heat of technology" when man believed he could make super-sonic commercial air travel a reality, go to the moon, or develop the micro-processor... However to me the APT concept is like another great British 60s idea that was never allowed to reach it's potential and sits in a museum: the TSR-2 fighter plane Just my thoughts
  9. Yes I saw the same, could be that it is for the whole of the Hornby International export markets whence the generic train and livery.
  10. Hope this helps, Post 35 shows the early stages of construction of the new WRD http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/38452-thornaby-tmd-no-more/page-2
  11. Going back to the idea of some sort of blanking being fitted between the joint modules and the cars, Kit says, APT-E was originally fitted with rubber between the cars and the joint modules so may I suggest please having something to fill in the gaps as APT-E was originally designed but make it removable for people who don't want/need it.
  12. Really like Hornby's new policy of dripping announcements - just hope something 'big' is left for December
  13. So met "Mr Tilt" at York show.....couldn't not buy the Rapido APT-E after that could!

  15. My 'Great Goodbye' Sir Nigel Gresley has the following code: REF01-90937, then: R3256-09-852. Given that the double tender 'Bittern' has just been released with a 'SK' reference things just more and more confused or did Hornby retool the A4 for Refined Industries???
  16. A wonderful announcement! Well done Hattons and DJM, is this the start of a GWR range I wonder....... Being slightly synical I wonder if the announcement has been made today after Hornby's statement yesterday Edited for spelling mistake
  17. The Whitby Goods Shed taken from the East Cliff, hope this helps http://www.flickr.com/photos/71871795@N03/6495517793/in/photostream/
  18. Have successfully cast the first arches of a plaster viaduct

  19. I'm sorry to pass on the bad news that Pickering Model Centre, formerly Puffers, is to close at the end of the month. It was Dennis's plan to close at the end of the month if a buyer could not be found for the business and Bronwyne is fulfilling Dennis's plans. It is such a shame that another excellent small local model shop is to close.
  20. Can I just say a very public thank you to Gilbert and Andy and all the other people who've helped them with their sad task, I found them all a pleasure to deal with despite the circumstances. Many thanks everyone, Matt

    Hornby king

I'm wondering if the above is what Hornby are referring to in the specification when they say "Various internal cylinder covers"

That's what i just thought 5-Pole motor... What appears to be separately fitted back head detail.. Brass bearings returning.. Separate smoke dart.. Its like Hornby are listening to us and are coming back to the table especially at the price they are quoting. Just one other thing doesn't this announcement from Hornby remind people of when Olivia'sTrains/Heljan announced a Blue Pullman and Bachmann announced it was already doing one within a few days.
