  1. Morning, Regarding sprouts it seems due to our weather this year there will be less available, good news for some not others! Awaiting delivery of my new car this morning which was a sort of internet buy, after test driving various makes and models I decided on a certain make and model, colour had to be discussed with other half then used a couple of car tender sites and waited for replies. Offers came in from several dealers and I chose one spoke to the dealership and now its coming some 211 miles from Poole in Dorset the dealer offered me a great deal which was not matched by our local dealer! Apparently it will arrive nice and clean..........its coming in the back of a furniture van! Enjoy your day Alan
  2. Afternoon, I thought I would pop in and say hello as Ive just gone through some of the first pages of ERs ( obviously not the ones before the changes occurred) as recently I was in Cape Town and I just could not remember the name of the guy who used to post from the retirement home there. Don Bradley is who I am refering to, going through the posts quite a few names not present these days obviously some have sadly passed away. Maybe some are like me useless at posting! All is well here though I seem to busier now in retirement than ever! Best wishes to those under the weather and particularly Sandy & John. Alan
  3. Hi, Copied the link and opened new page and pasted in search bar and duly watched, he made it look very easy! Alan
  4. Great pictures Kevin, maybe the viaduct could be named after some local dignitary or local business? Cheers!
  5. Morning, its stopped raining, the sun is shining, I must be dreaming!
  6. Just checked barrows on my layout are parallel to the platform edge More by good luck than anything else though !
  7. Afternoon, grey and dismal outside but not raining at the moment, great to hear the news re Debs. A busy day today, kicked off with the dentists followed by my Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm screening all clear on both accounts which is good news, though it means I wont see my lovely dentist for a while! Just finished wiring the last set of lights on my layout getting to old to be underneath baseboards, if and a big if i build another layout some thought will be given to hinged baseboards for easy access to wiring!!
  8. Afternoon, penance day today, the lawns have been mowed and the edges trimmed, cars washed and vacuumed and a few other bits and bobs under direction of the boss. Fair game really as the weekend was a mixture of model railway exhibition (Liverpool) watching sport ie tennis/football/cricket/rugby +time in the shed! Shame the weekend is over really. Sun is shining and its very pleasant, barbecue for tea then maybe grab an hour to finish a couple of things in the shed. Enjoy your day
  9. Morning, grey and overcast here but quite warm. Having a easy day today had a "Granddad Bob" incident yesterday, I was in the shed soldering various things and on my last item when i looked up to see/hear a large blackbird headbut the shed window this caused me to drop the soldering iron and instant reflex was to catch it, hmm nice burn mark across two fingers as a result. The blackbird a little dazed flew off probably more in shock at the expletives uttered by myself. Toying with the idea of going to the Liverpool exhibition tomorrow need to check with the boss in case plans are afoot that I am not aware of. Enjoy your day
  10. Ordered a second lot of lights for my layout last night, email this morning from Joe to say ordered despatched! and that somehow I had paid twice and a refund had been sorted. Excellent service and the quality of the product is good!
  11. Enjoyed watching the videos whilst in the dentists waiting room! A good way to pass the time
  12. Same here and I often browse through the earlier postings, without the thread sage brush trees would not be on my layout and the whole thread has given me numerous ideas and the desire to have a go!
  13. Just returned from the Lancs&Yorks DCC exhibition in Mancheter which BSW01 mentioned, managed to keep my modeling tokens intact just! Coming from there and then reading the news about the Stamford show (exhibitions thread) was sad to say the least, years of work trashed in seconds. Words fail me. So having kept my modeling tokens intact Ive just spent them via the internet, roll on Tuesday when post permitting said goods should arrive. Off to bank brownie points ie wash swmbos car. Enjoy the rest of the day
  14. Watching the video does not bode well for my future bank balance lol!
  15. Love the black and white pic Kevin
  16. Had the same issue this morning but all back to normal around 2pm
  17. I played rugby at school (sadly) but on the bright side they soon realised that I was crap to say the least and was allowed to play tennis instead. Funny that number 2 son excelled at rugby and went on to play for the county at under 15 and 16 level before sustaining a neck injury which caused him to pack it in. His skills did not come from me! Just spent best part of an hour searching the shed floor, I had painted a Dart castings model of a fisherman and on coming to glue the fishing rod in place it pinged out of my hand onto the floor. On the point of giving up I came across said fishing rod and have now glued in place! I also found 2 10p coins and a 50p how they got there is beyond me! Enjoy the weekend folks Alan
  18. So has mine, on now for about six years with no problems at all, beats replacing the felt every so often and no leaks!
  19. Sheds seem to be the topic of the day! I have just had a massive clean up in mine after finishing tree making part one ie 17 trees with more sagebrush ( tree makiing ala Kevin of Little Muddle fame) due to arrive this weekend courtesey of a friend who is visiting the USA. Its great to be able to leave stuff on the workbench and come back to it at a later date none of that can you clear the kitchen table please! Cheers Alan
  20. Simple answer is change your bookmark to https://www.rmweb.co.uk/ On all devices!
  21. Apparently the pensions regulator says 5 to 6 billion is needed to bridge the pensions gap.
  22. This news broke this morning be interesting to see what happens! The future of services on the West Coast Main Line has hit the buffers as the Government made a shock announcement that Virgin Trains' bid for the franchise due to be decided in June has been thrown out. The company which has run its Pendolino trains on the tracks through Lancashire since March 1997 has said it is shocked by the decision which the Department for Transport says is linked to problems with covering staff pensions under the company's current bid. Also it might be sunny but its 8c here which means I cannot garden as I have a rule of double fig temps need to be present before I venture into the world of horticulure this means time to play with objects that run on track in the shed! Enjoy the rest of your day
  23. Exactly what I was thinking, was not aware this existed but it's a case of well deserved to Kevin.
  24. I had the same issue with Firefox , cleared history, cache etc and disabled addons and plugins, by elimination once a google add on was disabled everything was fine. Not a clue why though!!
  25. Nice video Kevin!!!
