  1. jim how often dose this train run in the Stockport / Manchester area thanks
  2. also had a few issues at the moment as ive been in the attic a few times the last week to do little things as the glue sets quicker. but last night decided to run a few trains and found the lenz lvz has decided not to play ball. light on the front slowly flashing and still dose it when all track connections are removed so hopefully when things cool down all will return to normal.
  3. try southern pride models http://www.footplate.co.uk/index.php?main_page=index&manufacturers_id=9&sort=20a&page=2&zenid=b5ac7ca31e255a52537cf1e7931ec6c1
  4. by any chance did this train have a 60 on the front as saw a similar one passing woodley last week and according to realtime trains was going to a somewhere in manchester but can not remember where. thought it strange myself the noise it was making but put it down to the hot day
  5. hattons dave is there any news on when we can expect the weathered versions.
  6. three arrived to day very impressive shame i wont get to run them until tomorrow
  7. 3 coming for now just need the weathered ones now. can not believe it was march2015 these were announced. well done hattons thanks for bringing these to our layouts.
  8. jim is there a way to see the photos or do you have to use a certain browser. thanks roy
  9. i also wanted to model this collected a lot of photos even got a measurement of one of the old bricks as i live very close by to where the depot was and went hunting one day. but lost all information i had when my old computer went down just never got round to it again. good luck with the counting.
  10. e3109 the disused stations website has a good photo of the western side at the entrance end so with all the other photos on the web you get a good count and where there are doors ect http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/r/reddish_depot/index17.shtml also in this photo you can see there are doors below some windows and what looks like one full height door near to the second overhead support http://farm8.static.flickr.com/7017/6652113247_49ed6a3fab.jpg

cheers Charlie sound chip for the 68 arrived safe and well this morning. only ordered it a few days ago thanks for getting it out so quick at this time of year regards
  12. amazing how all this has gone apart form 2 abutments. in the above photo is there someone sat on the bridge above the tender of the first loco.
  13. i still find it strange that there is a row of about 100 concrete sleepers just a bit further back from the tunnel mouth photo.
  14. called in at hattons today as was passing as i needed some bits and had a good look at the wagons they have on display the photos don't do the wagons justice. The weathering looks a lot better when they are in front of you might even up my order.
  15. update on the megapoints as dave now has a selection of block detectors and feedback modules i have bought a few to show me where trains are in my hidden sidings all plug and play and they work just as expected and as all it needs is a connection across the pins i found could also use my existing heathcote boards to give a signal to the feedback board.
  16. funny that combi boilers were brought up hear i also had that misfortune last year when one morning turned shower on left it for a min as usual and then jumped in. wow that woke me up and the rest of the house. as for the chip i have dropped esu a email and see what i get back.
  17. thanks for the help and in response to the above. silver sidelines i had a look through the manual and dc running was set eltel and duch master normally wheels are cleaned with a woodland scenics 4561 but one this occasion i had a few stubborn bits of crud to remove i had tried to use dcc but as the wheels took a while to start turning they keep hitting the dirty spots so started again. that's when i decided to use dc as i also had to clean up some older models for a freind so tried to kill 2 birds with one stone. i had the loco upside down in a cradle and was using the peco wheel cleaners as i have not had to give them a proper clean for about 2 years and was using a gaugemaster rolling road to supply the power at about 80% had done about 3 models before i got to this one two were dc and one dcc then i started on this one. all was well until the last set of wheels. as for the damage if you look at where e label has 33 just below it you can see where a chip has gone white when it burnt out. not to sure how i could have caused a short as body was on and only was at the wheels making sure a was at both sides of the wheel set. newbryford i am hoping this is the case i was being gentle and trying to let the brushes do the work but every now and again a little bit of pressure was needed. i been running dcc for many years and never had a problem like this i think this is what has threw me a bit. the loco was bought from new when it came out and is used a few hours each week when time and work allow. just trying to work out what and why as i have around 15 sound fitted locos so do not want to repeat this c**k up so might get a couple of gm60,s to do the suborn bits.
  18. so after having sound chipped locos for a good few years i have finally had one blow. the model in question is a Bachmann class 66 and was 32-725DS Class 66 diesel 66022 "Lafarge Charnwood" in EWS livery (DCC sound on board) V3.5 i have had this loco from new and all has been well until today. i was giving the wheels a deep clean in a loco cradle and was using a dc controller as i was getting to the last set of wheels around 10 seconds per set there was the tell tale puff of smoke that something had gone pop. now im thinking was this due to being used on dc or was it just its time to go. i have managed to get a photo of where it has gone it also left a nice burn mark on the inside of the body any advice of help appreciated thanks roy
  19. i have just bought another board taking my total to 6 along with the multipanel routing processor and the dcc module. not had any major issues and with the dcc module can also change the points when not near the multipanel. the change over from my old setup has taken me a while but it has been worth it and Dave has been a great help when needed even offering a call when i was at home. looking at the new relay board it now means i will not need to add switches to the servos to change relays over. so thanks Dave and keep up the good work.
  20. mine has arrived and must be another lucky one with no glue showing and straight nameplates. put a spare Bachmann chip in for some reason i use this as a tester in all new models. runs well on dcc and the slow running capability of this model is very good. is anyone else surprised at how Heavey the 68 is feels a lot heavier than any of my other models.
  21. i have been looking over the thread for a long time some lovely old motors on there. so here i am with a more modern classic my 1989 renault 5 gt turbo.
  22. i had this same situation then found out by a phone call to atlas that if a few are sent back one after the other the account is stopped as they think you do not want anymore. i was also told that if a send a few back again in to phone up to make sure they are not stopped again and i would continue to get the models from where the account was stopped at.
  23. was a strange sight seeing the eurofighter heading towards the jet then circling it. was working in marple and had a great view of the event.
