Just found my ABS instruction sheet 017 for the Banana van where it states that 200 were built for the Southampton Docks traffic. Model livery -Body sides and ends inc buffer beams Humbrol HR 112 Stone, Solebars HR142 Brown and Brakegear etc Black. Roof was in SR days White. Lettering in Venetian Red.
-
Pete is correct re the Banana vans, I also have a couple on my layout.
-
Just remember that all cast iron rainwater(gutters / downrights or drainpipes) came in 6ft sections, this is not a criticism but advice from a retired plumber 1956-2006, keep up your excellent modelling. Regards Alan

Nice, very nice.

Do hope that you put a Bulleid chimney on it.

Is this model still available as it would sit nicely with my other SR brake van stock?

Thankyou so much Graham, I really appreciate your kindness for the time taken by you,I'm picturing myself there on June 23rd 1948 (Midland mainline DESBOROUGH Northants) in my short trousers seeing that wonderful MALACHITE machine go through which gave me a lifetime interest in the SOUTHERN RAILWAY!!!!!!
-
Cheers devondynosoar thanks for that.

Mod4, Thanks for your comment, and, whilst being a modeller since 1967 and seeing said loco on the trials at Desborough, Northants in 1948, I am new to this computing lark and learning every day so please excuse me for my ignorance..
