  1. I never got to see it in its original RF livery but the Class 50 Soceity did a superb job of repainting it back into the livery whilst at the West Somerset Railway. It just goes to show how well thought out the sector livery was as it managed to look smart on all the locos that carried it. I shall be up in the loft later so I'm sure I can roster it to some thing. Cheers Marcus
  2. Looking good bud. Definitely a superb rendition of the real thing. Nice work indeed.
  3. Thanks Al. I can't believe I've got to 2000 posts. Never dreamt that I would make that far. Don't worry there's still plenty to come yet. Thanks again for the compliments. Cheers Marcus
  4. Hi Duncan Great to meet you too. As you say it's always nice to put a name to the face. Had a very enjoyable afternoon. Just found your layout and work bench topics in your signature so I shall definitely be having a look in soon. All the best Cheers Marcus
  5. Thanks Andy. Yeah, it was a shame I missed you. Unfortunately I've already got plans for tomorrow. We will meet up soon though especially as we might be your way quite regularly as Di was rather impressed with the Riverside at Branston. Had a superb meal there and Anthony was rather impressed with watching the trains go by. A Lovely setting by the river just a shame it wasn't a bit warmer. See you soon Cheers Marcus
  6. I did think of you though Jim and asked if they had any Colas Driver size cranes........ He did say I would probably need two though for the job.....HaHa.
  7. Thanks Anthony. Haven't done anything else today as I've been up to The Gresley and Wychnor Model Railways clubs open day. A thoroughly enjoyable day and met up with a couple of other RM Webber's. Namely EMT_911 and North point. Always nice to put a face to the name. Will pop up some more pics tomorrow when I've done a bit more. Cheers Marcus
  8. Almost Ian. I did have Ainscough's number on speed dial just in case. HaHa.
  9. Just a quick update. Finally got the shed up into the loft and spent yesterday making the concrete slabs for around the sides. This morning I've glued these down in readiness for adding some static grass around the edges and joints. A few pictures of progress so far. Cheers for now Marcus
  10. Looking good mate. I would have thought it should be more than strong enough. The PIR, although light, is quite robust. Damn, I used enough of it on PDW. Six 8x4 to be exact.
  11. Hi Peter Must admit I've seen Hood a few times now and the Intercity livery suits it really well. I agree LL was probably the best although Defiance in RF General was my personal favourite. Also in my little world the trial was a success and its use became a little more wide spread spending a short spell in the Peak Forest area on trip workings. So keep a look out. HaHa. Cheers Marcus
  12. Ah, those were the days mate. Bloody freezing doing the static down in Wembley yard that day. Still remember you going off to Tescos for the donuts. HaHa. Still got them on my traction card as we utilised them on the sleepers for a bit. Must admit I always liked them. A mini, go faster 66.
  13. Nice. Been doing loads of OT latterly so looking forward to a few days off. Having a play with my newly arrived MJA's is on the list as well now. I've got a funny feeling these 6 days are going to fly by. What's it like being back on the skips then?
  14. Great pictures of the layout outside. Looks superb. You can never beat natural light to show something off. Particularly like the one of the HST with the palm trees behind in the garden. Looks very English Riviera. Cheers Marcus
  15. Cheers Al. Looking forward to my six days off now. Some modelling time and a few days out. Hoping to get up to Andys clubs open weekend on Sunday as it hasn't coincided with me working for a change.
  16. Hi Trev There nice wagons those Heljan Cargowaggons. I've got two bogie and one twin set. They've had a bit of a heavy weathering unfortunately but they still look good. Ideal for a bagged lime service on PDW. Cheers Marcus
  17. Afternoon all, Apologies if this is getting a bit boring now but, trying to juggle modelling in between work has been a bit manic latterly. Anyway we're now getting there. Painting completed and this morning I've been finishing off the spot lights for the shed, two of which I have fitted this morning. Off for a few days from tomorrow so fully intending to get a move on and get the rest of the lights fitted. Hopefully a days playing will be in order as well when I've got it on the layout. Mean while here's another picture (yawn) with the end lights fitted. Cheers for now Marcus
  18. Hopefully I'll get my loading shed somewhere near as well this weekend. Got 5 days off so will try and make the most of it although a trip out to the flat lands for some 37 haulage is also on the cards. Unless of course 37424 produces on the Cumbrian Coast then a change of direction will be in order. Cheers Marcus
  19. Nice neat and tidy job there mate. Nothing worse than removing an errant point. Top job.
  20. Hi Graham I don't think there's any question of whether it will be good enough. It's a superb layout and I would think you would have exhibition organisers biting your hand off for it. Best of luck with making it portable if that's what you decide. Cheers Marcus
  21. Blimey Rich. You've certainly got a lot of projects on the go mate. I'm having enough trouble trying to get some time on PDW at the moment. Seeing the other pictures of the 60 it really does look superb. Much better than the CORUS livery they were painted in after BSC was taken over. Look forward to seeing the progress on the mystery diesel. All the best Cheers Marcus
  22. Very nice indeed. You're mates done a superb job on that. I always thought the BSC blue looked superb. 37501 looked good in it to. Now there's a thought.......HaHa
  23. Top work Martyn. The hotel looks superb. Can't wait to see that develop further. Cheers Marcus
  24. Bl@@dy brilliant. You really do crack me up mate. Keep em comin!
  25. Good to have a chat on the phone the other night Andy. Hope that coughs got better as it sounded if you were really suffering mate. Feeling ill and have problems at the same time is never good. Really puts a dent in your mojo. Take your time buddy and decide what's right for you. All the best Cheers Marcus
