  7. My friends business has managed to get two of my pet hates into its business name. ‘i Bathroom Solutions’ His name is Kev and he fits bathrooms so why not ‘ Kev the bathroom fitter’ simples oh no I’m starting with it now!
  8. A good article, 11 hours a week tracking down items in short supply , what a waste of resources. Then there’s the waste of resources tracking down stock at a price that’s not above the NHS reimbursement price. . Goodnight from Mr Grumpy,
  9. Dont you need to be logged in to get to Early Risers anyway? ( or anything on Wheeltappers)
  10. Regarding taking pets out for the day what about poor old Hector?
  11. Thanks for that, it’s come as quite a surprise really but I did know that the owners wife, Ineke has been ill for a while. They are a very friendly family and often advise me where to visit when I’m in Holland. Hopefully I’ll get to see them before they close. Wow, things are really coming off the tracks this year.
  12. In a week that has caused much debate in our hobby I wonder if anyone could confirm my belief that this is another trader that has decided to close the door for the last time. https://www.n-spoorstore.nl/en/content/het-is-mooi-geweest For those that may be wondering, it a place where I do spend quite a few tokens and have got to know the family and staff quite well. If the message is what I think it is I’d like to send them a thank you card but obviously I want to be sure. Thanks in anticipation. Robert
  13. Evening All, Much skipping of posts again I’m afraid so hopefully all is well but commiserations to @PhilJ W on the loss of his car but at least you escaped un injured. As for me just the usual but we’ve been watching a bit of tv which you may think odd but some weeks the tv doesn’t even get switched on. Something that I did watch was this, https://www.itv.com/watch/tonight/1a2803/1a2803a9392 which portraits the situation quite well. One of the issues raised is the reimbursement price of medicines that are supplied. I spoke to a colleague last year and he told me the average pharmacy was losing £1000 PER WEEK on this issue and obviously as this is an average figure some are losing out to a much greater extent. No wonder the dark one is roaming free. On a more positive note my team won but as all the other teams around did too we’re still in the same place in the league. Enough drivel, Goodnight.
  14. Evening All, Much skipping of late due various things but hope everyone is at least ‘managing’. @grandadbob dont get too comfortable, the Shark will be waved in your direction sooner or later. Goodnight. sorry for late arrival of post only just seen its not been posted! Better late than never. (?)
  15. Heres the report on the Beeb. Alaska Airlines placed restrictions on the Boeing plane involved in a dramatic mid-air blowout after pressurisation warnings in the days before Friday's incident, investigators say. The jet had been prevented from making long-haul flights over water, said Jennifer Homendy of the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB).
  16. Its reported on BBC that the plane has had least 2 depressurisation incidents in the last couple of weeks and the plane has been ‘diagrammed’ not to fly over sea while the problems is resolved. I wonder if the passengers were aware of this restriction? And what about the crew, what did they know? What a state of affairs, almost criminal in my eyes.
  17. @Barry O Sorry about you news and mood, hope it’s a good match.
  18. Life Begins at the Hop. XTC
  19. Nothing else to report so Goodnight, Robert
  20. Evening, A bit under par today, a case of the trots followed by a migraine which may have been related. Anyway felling a bit better know but a bit tired. SWMBO is also a bit under the weather due to sniffles and having mil and nephews around really doesn’t help. Mum sent a picture of yesterdays view from her veranda and fortunately the water has receded and the (tow?) path is now passable. Newark Castle is just behind the trees in the top right hand side of the picture.
  21. This signage at my local football club always make smile as it reminds me of ‘Trotters Independent Traders, New York, Paris and Peckham’. They are one of the clubs main sponsors.
  22. You missed out Chrissie Hynde from The Pretenders. She actually has the same birthday as me, another piece of useless information brought to you in association with Old Speckled Hen.
  23. When we went the station at Wassen was closed because their timetable was so intense there were no paths for local stopping train. There was a parallel bus service up to Goschenen which we used for our return. I’m not sure if the station is open or is due to reopen due to more paths being available due to most trains now taking the base tunnel route. Robert
