  10. Cant believe we’ve had Hovis one year now. She makes such a difference to our lives. Don't know where I’d be without her.
  11. Looks like HS2 money is being well spent.

  14. Looks to me like a pumped up Arado 234 Blitz but the lift engines don’t look like anything I’ve seen before. Anyway something a little more familiar.
  15. But I bet there was few telling you ‘summat wernt reyt’.
  16. A big thanks to all involved in the exhibition, the exhibitors, traders and all those who attended. Hopefully we see you all again next year and if you enjoyed it, tell your friends! Further news on the Yorkshire Coast Electric Tramway, it will not be going out as it was presented at the weekend. Steve, not exhibition manager Steve, is contemplating changing from live overhead power to two rail in order to improve reliability. The overhead wire is very fine and the contact area with the trolley pole wheel is minute and the wire is very sensitive to changes in temperature and therefore tension. I know this sounds a little defeatist but it was very stressful on Saturday trying to get it to run as it should. All I can say to those wanting to see it or book it watch this space. Thanks again for your support. Robert
  17. Up to a few years ago I thought we did but now I’m not so sure. Certainly the ‘digital age’ brings evidence of atrocities closer to home.
  18. Visited a former concentration camp near Hamburg a couple of years ago, a very chilling and thought provoking place. Eerily quit and not much conversation as we wondered around. Wasn’t the Neuengamme site, a smaller satellite camp but just can’t remember it’s name. Anyway, can’t sleep which is a bit surprising as a very busy weekend at the exhibition. Was good to speak to Baz and the rest of the team (and other exhibitors). After taking down the show I realised that we’re all getting older and those tables and layout baseboards aren’t getting any lighter. It always seem to be the same people doing the work. Busy morning tomorrow as two lots of tables need returning and then get ‘my’ van back to work ASAP as the regular works van is out of action. After the last two weekends ‘playing trains’ brownie need to be earned so goodness knows what else the day will bring. Right, early breakfast or try for more sleep?
  19. Just for you Neil, I took it thinking of you. I know the pole is down, just posing!
  20. I was with LV last year for one of the works vans. The broker said LV had stopped the doing the type of insurance I needed ( any user for a limited company). Their next best first offer was approximately 50% more but eventually got it ‘down’ to about 20% more than last year’s. I have about six insurance policies that are due with a 4 week period and it’s a complete PIA chasing around for a competitive price.
  21. Glad you enjoyed your day and hopefully we’ll see you again next year!
