  1. Hi Les thanks very much and sorry late reply it’s been a pretty bust weekend, do you miss O gauge? I do sometimes but I don’t regret moving back down to 4mm, I’ll take a look at that YouTube channel now mate. Thanks again
  2. I’d need at least four 🤦🏻‍♂️
  3. A nice newly tooled cl40 would be nice to go with the new 37’s and 47’s 🤞🏼
  4. School project well underway and taking over modelling time!! I’ve learnt how to model a thatched roof though
  5. All balanced together just to see how it’s looking, so far so good, I still need to cut the windows out in the stores building
  6. Thanks buddy they’re just the Wills/Peco sheets but I’m sure someone out there will do them in 7mm.
  7. Thanks mate I’m really enjoying what I’m doing at the moment and it seems to be looking ok to!
  8. Firstly a few views of the kettle, I must admit I’m very happy with it 😃 Quite a bit of modelling today but none for the layout apart from the first layers of paint on the corrugated sheeting on the front of the shed. My daughters school homework has took over today, she needs to build houses for the ‘Great fire of London’ project so only bring six I’ve took on the challenge, quite a bit done on the first house (I think they only need one house each but I’m going do do a couple with one on fire 😉)
  9. It was a bit of an eBay bargain already weathered, although I must admit I do fancy weathering a kettle or two
  10. Don’t worry it’ll be on a scrap line 😉
  11. Something a little different today and no I’ve not had a bang to the head 😉 Although my passion is diesels and electrics I’ve always wanted one of these, mostly because my dad loved them and they remind me of him. I came close to buying one in the mid 80’s when a trip to the original tiny Hattons on Smithdown Rd with my mum and dad to trade in some stock I didn’t use resulted in quite a nice little amount of credit, I wanted to buy one then mostly for my dad but he insisted on no so we compromised and bought a Lima 09 and many other bits. So I thought now was about time but it had to be something that looked right and fitted in so here it is…
  12. It’ll be Biffo’s in both of mine I think
  13. Thanks mate work is going to get in the way of modelling for next few days but here’s a quick look at the canopy that will cover the stores platform at the side of the shed
  14. Cheers mate getting there and I’m enjoying every minute 😃
  15. No worries 😉 thanks Will at least the track mustn’t look like normal OO which is a good thing
  16. Thanks Will, the track is just OO using the new C&L flexi and hand built points so everything runs off the shelf buddy.
  17. A bit more work on the depot this afternoon, only placed together at the moment so see how it’s looking
  18. For anyone interested in railways especially steam in the Merseyside area I came across this great movie
  19. Early’s has put pay to any modelling up until today although lack of modelling has key my mind wander somewhat. Not sure if it’s just me but if I have time to think I start to overthink things and doubt what I’m doing, I have to admit this is the first time this has happened in over a year and first time with this layout. My concerns were the two raised running lines, should I have them? Am I making life hard for myself as this was originally the scenic break at one end and now that scenic break needs a scenic break itself not to mention the awkward angle it would make the fiddle yard/cassette!! 🤦🏻‍♂️ My other option was to have one of the lines lifted/out of use rusting away whilst the other was cut short to act as a headshunt for the high level stabling point. So today once I finished work I got the first board down to stare at and scratch my head, after a while I’ve come up with another solution that might be feasible, to change the angle of the junction and curve the two lines back on itself to run more parallel with the board. The board will eventually have the width extended by another foot at the front so this might work. Hopefully the photo below will give an idea how it could look, the green lines being the board joints. I’ve also grabbed an hour working on the depot building, so far so good
  20. I wasn’t expecting to get anything done today as I had a 0420 book on 🤦🏻‍♂️ But I was back home by 0700 so thought I’d make the most of the day. First time in ages I’ve managed to get both boards set up, the line from the fuel storage has been extended to the side of the shed to serve the depot stores and I’ve also soldered all the droppers on the second board, I’ve also done another layout update video
  21. After the excitement of the Peaks work has carried on with the shed building, think it looks ok so far, deliveries and train crew have started turning up to 😉
