Thanks mate it was originally going to be fine scale standards but it’s more or less oo gauge for ease. On the depot I’ve used C&L flexi but on ELJ all the track is hand built using ply sleepers. It well worth giving it a go as it’s really enjoyable and works out far cheaper in the long run. Thanks again Paul

Looking great 👍🏼

One good thing about the mrs doing uni work is I have to keep out of the way! Three hours later and ELJ is coming along nicely. One thing I have learnt over the years track building is that I find it’s easier building the wing rails and the blades as one then saw once installed, I do make an initial cut beforehand but only halfway through the rail. I actually thought I’d done a good job you might need to give me some lessons 😂

Morning folks, I’ve kind of been engrossed in track building on ELJ which is coming along nicely but I haven’t forgotten about this project although things have altered as regards of what I’m going to build. I’m not divulging anything at the moment but I do have a track plan more or less finalised, it will be a maximum of 8’ long but the width is still undecided. It will also be able to operate as a stand alone layout to play with easily but I’m building it in such a way it can be incorporated into my other project if you get me 😉 I will post the plans soon and please take a look at how ELJ is coming along, I’ll post some photos below. I hope everyone has a merry and wonderful Christmas and happy new year to follow. Paul

Literally had five minutes me time this morning, so one rail was fixed into position, I’m obviously easily pleased 🤗

Was my wiring that bad? 🤔😂 To be honest building track in EM was no different to any other I’ve built (not going there regarding P4) for me it was having to re-wheel everything it was just to much hassle at the time 😕

Been there done that not going back 😂

That does look rather impressive though Mike 😉

Nothing wrong with that Phil, although I do think you should give track building a go, I’m sure Mike would love to see you have a go to 😉

Not much free time over the weekend but grabbed 30 minutes before, thankfully the diamond is coming along. Paul

Todays progress which was sandwiched between picket line and school run! Also the first loco on ELJ makes an appearance. Paul

Thanks Phil, think this is the most progress I’ve ever made in such a short period of time 😂

Grabbed another hour tonight so now the majority of chairs are now thread on to the rails ready to be trimmed to size and fixed into position, pretty pleased with this weeks progress. Paul

More progress today, first four vee’s have been fixed into position (made far easier by the use of the odd copper clad sleeper) and progress has been made with the diamond, I’ve even done a short video to, once again apologies for the voice over, I really should get someone else to to the talking 😂 Paul

Good couple of hours work tonight and got one of my not so favourite jobs out of the way, I’ve got the first six vee’s made, hopefully I’ll get these cut to size and fitted in the next day or two. Paul

Mine arrived yesterday, I did have one when they were originally released but sold it when I changed scales, so glad they got re-released

Class 50, By Accurascale

Me personally would rather have a 40 than a 50 but you take what’s on offer and I’m very much looking forward to my 50, I just need your or five Accurascale cl40’s to go with it 😉 -

I’ve seen the plans for that an always fancied chopping a 50 and Deltic up to make one, it would make a great ‘what if’ Paul
