  1. I’ve seen the plans for that an always fancied chopping a 50 and Deltic up to make one, it would make a great ‘what if’ Paul
  2. Wow you’re quick!!! Coming along nicely mate 😃👍🏼
  3. Same here Mike when I ordered my Peak at the original price they initially take the payment but put it straight back, but when peaks arrived into stock and the invoice came through to pay it was the increased price. Paul
  4. I never got around to cancelling it when I moved away from EM up to 7mm but now three years later I’ve returned to 4mm I’m glad I never as I find Exactoscale chairs far better than C&L’s also it’s far easier to order off them to. Paul
  5. I should of really queried it to be honest as I pre-ordered the Peak months earlier
  6. The EM gauge society sell exactoscale products to, I’m still a member but I’m back making hand built track in OO gauge now. Paul
  7. That happened with my split box Peak I pre-ordered from TMC, when it came to paying for it it was at the increased price ☹️
  8. First chair glued into position by my little helper
  9. Board sealed, cork tack bed stuck down along with the Templot, just need to drill the holes for the point motors then I can start fixing the rails into position
  10. I understand why feelings are running high and yes maybe using the wording GTR to advertise isn’t such a good idea but it’s not the locos fault, D326 just happened to be booked on that diagram that day, it could have been any loco. Yes it had a rather infamous career but that doesn’t mean D326 can’t be replicated. It’s like saying you can’t model 47*** or 158*** because it had a fatality, at the end of the day D326/40126 is just another cl40. I already have a modified Bachmann version of D326 but if or when KR produce D326 and if it’s better than what’s currently on offer I’ll certainly purchase one.
  11. A good couple of hours modelling today, track building is getting underway on ELJ but I’ve spent an hour planning the depot, completely different approach but it gives me an 8’ max layout to play trains on! Can anyone guess which location has inspired me? 🤔
  12. A good couple of hours work today, first metre of rail has had the chairs threaded ready to be secured into position, but first I need to get the board stained then I can fix the track plan down onto cork underlay.
  13. Most sleepers and timbers are now in fixed into position including the copper clad timbers
  14. Who said Accurascale was intimidated?? I’m guessing they knew someone else was planning on doing a 40 so respectfully let them get on with it, whilst they carry on with their 37’s and 50 etc
  15. I did ask our friends at Accurascale would they ever consider a cl40 but their reply was that as much as they would love to do one someone (presumably KR) already had one in the pipeline.
  16. I’ve recently modelled D326 having lowered and adding extra detail to a Bachmann, like previously mentioned it’s an important part of railway history
  17. I’ve got five bridges to build 🤦🏻‍♂️
  18. Sat here on the train heading to work reading through this thread from 2015, why did I ever give up on this project! Although having said that I’ve learnt a lot since starting it and I’ve discovered a few minor details I’d left out originally so I suppose all good things happen for a reason. After today I’ve five days off so once all the timbers and sleepers are down I can hopefully make a start on the track construction although I want the first chair to be stuck down by my daughter who is now 6 going on 16, as she loves playing with the trains and loves seeing each days progress. I also need to get the board stained as I’m not taking any chances when it’s out in the garage once boarded out. Paul
  19. On the depot side of things I have made a start on the shed but not posting any photos until it’s worth showing, for those of you interested in track building I have been laying timbers for Edge Lane Junction, here’s a link to the latest updates for anyone who’s not seen it
  20. A couple a cancellations today meant only one thing, an early dart and some timbering about
  21. Well yesterday was a busy day, Accurascale announced the cl50, my train decided to catch fire at Man Pic, BTP drag a passenger off… … and I painted some sleepers
  22. Coming along nicely mate, some cl50’s will look nice there 😉
