  1. That's a big oof right there. I suppose I'll wait for next month, when I'll actually get this month's issue.
  2. If you want to see some steam in Blue, some of the younger makes have proposed or actually done so. I think KR did?
  3. That's what keeps me here! Did you consider trying to cut the existing rods?
  4. If you need oil stains, mix a bit of black and brown with some gloss, then thin the hell out of it.
  5. Providential. I know that's a limited connection, but a family connection none-the-less.
  6. Just what I need, another industrial...
  7. As someone who is not particularly well-versed in DCC, the few times I've looked into 'chipping' a loco, I've usually seen ESU LokSound chips recommended. Contrarily, I have seen very recent reports (from the Rapido N scale Class 28 thread) that current production chips are suffering from quality-control issues.
  8. I'd imagine, to some extent. that export locos built to larger loading gauges would have been shipped KD. Then, erected in local shops. Also, ports would have to accommodate the given cargo ships. Admittedly, Liberty ships were designed for versatility. I'd imagine they'd be able to berth and disembark anywhere that took any quantity of international shipping. On the S.160s, what livery options are there? USATC black, then preservation?
  9. Probably a good match for Rapido. Now, if only I could get Rapido UK shipped direct to me in the US, instead of bouncing through the UK.
  10. Also, a 'dead' driver affects ride and TE differently than an intentional trailing axle. I can't personally say to how, exactly.
  11. Yeah, that sounds right. Sorry for the diversion @checkrail. Any more comings and goings over the weekend?
  12. Available in N from two different sources, though I don't know if the 3d-printer still does theirs. I forge the name of the outfit. They wouldn't ship to the USA, and that was some 10 years ago!. Other is Osborn's Models own range. @chuffinghell might be coaxed into modeling it...
  13. https://www.svrwiki.com/GWR_1399_Milk_Brake Decided to look it up. Four ex-Ambulance vans apparently used on milk trains.
  14. Speaking of milk traffic. How about the milk brake? I've seen kits of it a couple of times. I just know nothing about it.
  15. What would feasibility on alternate materials to keep inside tons/ft? I mean, aluminum was already a thing, and wooden half- or three-quarters cabs are a possibility.
  16. These are neat vans. I was interested in grabbing a single-veranda, until I discovered they'd all been doubled by my timeframe.
  17. You should endeavor to have at least one King with green cylinders, just to irritate the purist crowd. Base all your livery decisions on advertising and cigarette cards.
  18. I think that's the first time I've seen rectangular cab windows on a GWR loco. Neat.
  19. Whatever your complaints with the 'kit,' you're doing a fine job of it.
  20. DC brake handles look cool. I can also see why they were replaced.
  21. I don't know about where to start, but plenty of threads on where not to start.
