Can I hazard we go back to discussing the model at hand? There's enough issue taken with Bellerophon so far without keening on KR as a whole. I imagine there's a thread for that already.
I'd also not want to see the thread locked, as happened with DJ Models.
I hadn't taken a close look this morning when I received my newsletter. Shame to see the update seems a dud.
I also now approach this thread with a bag of popcorn.
Can't make out the name from the pic. The lined green option on the lower left, though, looks to be a very similar lined green to that offered on both the LRS Victory and Rapido's Hunslet.
I think UK jackshaft drive favored drive to one end or the other, not in the middle. The LMS example above being a noted exception. May want to see if you can swap the last drive axle with the jackshaft?
If you take Awdry's other writings, James is supposed to be a L&Y 28 with a stretched frame to accommodate the pilot. That's probably intention, though.
I've been spoilt in N with Dapol's B-set. I wish they'd re-run the Prairies; right now I have to justify questions by saying Earl of Dunraven is on the 'running-in' turn with the B-set.
Loving the play with the Prairies.
Regarding the 'Mites,' they look straightforward enough to bash. Underframe kit, scribed basswood, and balsa and nails or pins for the bolsters themselves.
Trix, but yes, the same tooling. I don't need any of that silly third rail.
Also, an addendum, I think I had my Dean Goods on the T-Trak in that shot, not the 5600.
Have you made the .stl available?
I wouldn't think they would haul much in real life. Only one cylinder. I think the thread we have on such odd locos has some good shots of these in service.
Personal experience has led me to desire mechanical & chemical bonds for couplings. Heljan's Garrett has a way of showing any weakness in your work!
You're the better experience in that, Neil. Just thought I'd share what I've seen.
Nice cap, @Wickham Green too. I had similar ideas for my continental stock, where our club layout bears catenary. Lima's old Schnabel will get around that layout without issue.
