  1. Last one for today, Hercules C.1 (C-130K), albeit heavily modified. Lossimouth October 12:
  2. Sorry, Andy, it's an F.3. 111sq never flew the GR.4. Here's the preceding shot as it taxied onto the threshold, just for confirmation. Serial is ZE965.
  3. RAF Fairford, IAT arrivals, July 10. A pair of F-22As get in just ahead of the heavens opening:
  4. Further back to April 10, again Lossie, A 111sq Tornado F.3 goes through the reheat light up: EDIT: I can't get the images to show in the right order. It seems to automatically arrange the images in order of precise size...... Hopefully you get the gist of the correct order.....
  5. Hello, As my signature says I am looking for a number of coaches and rolling stock to complete my Glasgow North rakes. I'm looking for the later Farish Maroon stock as per the following. Running numbers do not matter. MK 1 - BSK x6, FO x1, BG x 9, CCT x11 STANIER - BFK x1 If anyone is able to help, please let me know. Best Scott
  6. Eric, Yes, apologies, Hungary. When I first saw the shape of the fin flash/(non-round) roundle my first thought was Hungary, however I checked it wasn't Bulgaria, and therefore had Bulgaria on the brain when posting. Ramble over. Best Scott
  7. The fun fin flash looks like the Bulgarian Hungarian Air Force Insignia https://hu.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fájl:Roundel_of_Hungary.svg best scott
  8. Geoff, I think the OP is saying 2mm (N) as against 4mm (OO). I don't think he means 2mmFS, rather 2mm N gauge........ Best Scott
  9. Outstanding, and not just the track. Lovely looking layout. Thanks for sharing, very inspirational.
  10. Intriguing! One of my favourite layouts, this........
  11. Fair comment. But also in fairness, there wasn't enough interest in a crowdfunded 21/29 from a fledgling (at the time), unproven (at the time) two -man band (at the time). Things are likely to be different now, with a proven track record of delivering quality powered and unpowered models to the N and OO market. For Dapol, with a lot of the hard work already done for the OO model, it might be a bit more palatable for them.
  12. Wow! They do look incredible for 3d prints. Well done, sir!
  13. Yes a very good idea I did the same although only to the tune of 2TB. The gamers' anxiety that it averts is palpable. I only despair at Sony's insistence in putting the USB sockets on the front of the console.....visible wires are untidy, don't they know?
  14. C6T, Indeed. I was uncharacteristically naive in my first two attempts, but last night I completed the game. Third time is a charm. In my first attempt, I went for the "explode the fuel trucks as the aircraft passes them on the runway". The second time I waited for the aircraft to take off and then attempted to snipe the missile. The target bug did turn red so I suspect this is a legitimate approach. I ma go back and try that again. But third time, duh - get the binos out, tag the aircraft which highlights the engine pods - Snipe said engine pods - Robert is your father's brother. As you say, underwhelming. Definitely a game with much longevity.
  15. Buoyed by C6Ts talk of SE4, I have begun to remedy the fact that I've yet to finish the game. And so it was that last night I embarked on what I think is the final mission (although I understand there may be two additional missions. Need to look into that), Allagra Fortress. I had a joyful time sneaking round and taking out the bad guys from range before sneaking into the fortress proper. When I head down a tunnel or corridor I always lay a series of trip mines and mines, and it's satisfying hearing one go off followed by "JAGER KILLED". You don't sneak up on the sneaker, Jerry, no you don't! Anyway, got to the mission finale with only having to use a minor bandage to patch up, but didn't quite get to finish it. The final shot eluded me. Twice. And the baddy flew off to do his dastardly deed. There's always tonight. Thoroughly enjoyed taking my time stealthily, methodically, patiently and sensibly taking out the enemy. It's a game that requires a good amount of discipline and patience, which is rare these days. I hear SE 5 is in the development pipeline. I got SE4 cheap (it may have been free?), but I'd happily pay full price if SE 5 builds on 4. Best Scott PS: I also was very uncomfortable with more than one of Trevor's activity.
  16. Are the end plates for this concept still available? Best Scott
  17. Is there anything better than a sniper round through the left eye socket (other eye sockets are available)? You are correct about hiding bodies. If discovered the alarm is raised and in many cases you will be descended upon. I'd say it is worth picking up the add-on missions. It's a series of 3(?) missions, revolving around a German secret weapon. And a very high value target............
  18. I've started to try and weather some of my rolling stock and the first two up are a Dapol Blue Spot Fish van and a Dapol SR CCT. Both remain very much a work in progress. Whilst I do have and use a number of airbrushes, which I use for painting and weathering track (but primarily for plastic aircraft kits), I wanted to try weathering railway stock with paint and washes applied by brush as it's easier to just pick up and do a wagon on spec, in front the TV or sitting in the garden, for instance and clean up than if spraying. The Blue spot Has had Life Colour Weathered black acrylic applied and then removed with a dry brush followed by a brush dipped in a little thinners to remove more paint where required, especially around the running number. The end of the van shows the original bright white. A Life Colour wash, Soot, was then applied over the top to try and blend things, but unfortunately the Soot has a green tinge to it. I will try a very dark brown next to try and remedy that. I was working from photographs of the prototype and I'm happy with the distribution of muck. I might get some powders to add some texture. The CCT has had the same Weathered Black applied, a couple of coats and then dry brushed off. I'm quite happy but I think it needs more muck, too much of the green is visible I think. Powders again to add texture. The other side is attached to show the original OOB colour. In both cases the under frames need weathering. The roofs of both are again Weathered Black dry brushed on, with the Soot wash applied over the top. The CCT looks okay I thing, maybe powders again, but I think the Blue Spot could be grubbier. Thoughts welcome Best Scott
  19. What a wonderfully utilitarian locomotive. A completely new one on me. Thanks for sharing!
  20. Thanks @Nick Holliday For some reason I thought the NLS and the old-maps sed the same maps. Another big help. That said, it doesn't look like I'm too far away using the 1900s plan and photos. I'll take a closer look later though. Thanks again Best Scott
  21. Thanks for that. It is indeed from the 1900s, so I really put it in as just is as a place holder, hoping someone might come along and give me some pointers. That link to the other thread is a great help. I'll have a go at the 1959 arrangement and update the plan. Thank you again, that's a great help. Best Scott
