  1. Whatabout pointed sticks?
  2. Dearie me that was hot work and rather annoyingly nothing pinged off.
  3. I can see people losing their lives trying this ;-) ps. Where do you get a bag big enough?
  4. Interesting reading until I reached this bit. Giving this man any credibilty made me stop reading. Even Donald Trump, who is one of the most experienced property developers in New York City, stated that the building could only have been brought down by explosive as "planes would never be able to penetrate the steel beams." https://killuminatinews.blogspot.com/2019/01/cia-agent-gives-sworn-statement-we.html?fbclid=IwAR1L2i_s_GcWJFSw1DdxliTQxmN1cIocabRKxvoUhji0WSWIGfE7zud3lUE&m=1
  5. unclods itself continually
  6. Bindweed I have found likes a gentle tug (no EA intended) and it often gives up a decent length of root. I am now getting to grips with it (again no EA) and slowly it is being removed by that method rather than by digging. Brambles, I am digging out. Buddliea went a few years ago when I discovered its appetite for growing. Ivy is a constant fight but I am slowly getting it out of the ground and off of my stone wall by pulling it slowly and pulling lengths of roots out. Strawberry plants planted by my sister about 8 years ago are the new bindweed. And before anyone says leave them and eat the crop, in 8 years we have eaten 4 or 5 small strawberries. Pah! Passion flower is another pain. I have one area left where I need it destroyed as it keeps throwing shoots up. I love the flowers but it is more intrusive than a fairly intrusive thing. Didn't the US of A use a deforestation liquid in 'nam? I am reluctant to napalm it as I will harm the nearby lavender. The major battle is that tall plant with nice looking purple spiky flowers (Willowherb IIRC). It's the Devils own job to get rid of that. I usually pull the group of stems at ground level, but at times its resistance is very good. Slowly the garden is being cleared of these weeds, then as areas of soil are revealed the cats come around and make their deposits, despite the best attentions of my cat hating dog. Cleavers or Sticky Willie (calm down Mick) is another pain this year. Creeping in from our neighbours. And finally Esther, Elder or ground elder, that is pretty hard to eradicate.
  7. 21st century in a major league country and our local news had a report tonight that many children (about 7 to 9 years olds were shown in the article) living in Plymouth have never seen a crab or been to the beach. WTF? I can understand London kids might never have seen a sheep, but Plymouth is pretty near beaches.
  8. Maybe the hirsute bottomed ship needed a decent sacrificial anode.
  9. Jeff, the slate rockface and stone quay wall from polystyrene pizza bases. LE
  10. A bit of modelling over the past week. Stone quay wall, timber quay wall, slate rockface and 3 unfinished attempts at buddleia making. The quay walls are just over 2.5" tall. The buddliea need more work.
  11. Is that because they had seen his hose? Jacket, scarf, taxi!
  12. Chris, no offence intended or instructions how to suck eggs. I just wondered if you had inadvertently answered a question that could only be answered by looking on FB.
  13. 06.29 the promised call came from John Lewis. We'll be with you in 30 minutes, traffic permitting. Haha I thought cynically. 06.59 they arrived bringing the new tv and taking the old one under their guarantee. All set up now and raring to go. Just got to establish how to watch Spurs play the Red Scouse on the 1st June.
  14. Chris it seems apparent that your efriend was "fishing" to see if you had been looking on his profile.
  15. There is a good one in Namur, 90 mins south east ish of Bruxelles, and also 1 in Huy a bit further towards Liege.
  16. Chris, a Facebooker has never, and still cannot see who has looked at their profile. https://www.makeuseof.com/tag/can-really-see-viewed-facebook-profile/
  17. I don't hold much expectation for the final. Having been a Spurs supporter since 1960, at times a decent win is a result. With Lucas Moura the last purchase our squad isn't strong enough to cover the injuries and bans we have had. I am pleased but also fearful with Kane coming back because without him we have had great games and with him we have had great games. We need to play consistently and not bottle it at times as we did when Leicester were champs and earlier this year. Don't get me wrong, if the team turns up and starts playing from the 1st whistle we have a chance. We can defend against the best on our day and going forward we can do damage. I just hope Foyth isn't in the squad. I'd rather play a man down because that way everyone would work harder and more carefully than him.
