  1. Charity shops sometimes have sizeable amounts of them
  2. should think the croutons would irritate your eyes
  3. LG quoted me £350+ to replace the screen. John Lewis, the retailer said the repair quote they were given was too much. I was happy with a repair but no choice. Devon has changed since then Brian.
  4. They offered me a Samsung but as we are happy with LG apart from its failing, we decided to take an LG. I compared online and they are very good in comparison. The engineer on Saturday said that they replace screens across the whole of the manufacturers because of the backlighting problem. Ours just showed bright highlights. It looks like an on screen sun is shining but doesn't really spoil the picture. But he said some screens go completely dark.
  5. Update to my tv repair of last week. The engineer came and quoted John Lewis a repair bill too high. JL declared this a BER, beyond economic repair. So 4 options were offered moi. 1.A new tv 2.Take the value of the new tv 3.Put the money towards a different tv 4.Full cash refund. It appears that all 4 options realise the same figure, which is a figure £100 short of the purchase price nearly 5 years ago. Option 1 only permits an extended guarantee of the remaining 5 months. So, we agreed to pay £10 more towards a different tv and that initiates another extended 4 year JL guarantee on top of the 12 month LG guarantee. New tv arrives next Thurs.
  6. The 3 wise train men, see no evil, see no evil and see no evil
  7. Bryford--Langdale. (It won't allow me to put 3 letters in between the hyphens, c, u &m)
  8. 8" I think. Can't find them at the mo. I thought I left them in my 8 track cartridge box
  9. You need a mouse so that you can eject the floppy disk
  10. Great to see the end of that cretinous show on tv. Utter provocation of many of the assembled victims.
  11. At last, my first swift has been sighted. Flying in the clear airspace viewable from my lounge.
  12. Cargo ship entering Teignmouth harbour whilst the Shaldon water carnival was happening.
  13. Pride of Bruges in Chatham naval dockyard
  14. I was taken off of Losartan in Feb 2016 because I had an annoying cough and in July 2016 I had to undergo lung surgery.
  15. My great uncle, aunt and their son all lived in Roseville for their final years after having lived in Sacramento for many years. Visited Sutters fort, the old town, railway museum, native American museum and a shopping mall at Arden that had a huge sliding door that was the bricked corner of the building. Sacramento was also one end of the Pony Express service. Many relatives still live in Sacramento. I much preferred San Francisco, a thoroughly enjoyable city to be in and so much to see and do.
  16. The trouble Natalie has ( like I am experiencing with my Mother) is making her Mum understand that at times like the present she needs to accept that she needs help.
  17. I have absolutely no idea what TKR, THR or #NOF are but you need to contact your local OT and explain to them the position and ask them to visit whilst you are there. Other than that is there a charity in your area that could help? Maybe Age Concern/ Age UK could suggest a way forward. Speaking to her gp about such dangers as carrying hot food & drinks whilst using 2 crutches may help. Do you need to consider mental capacity for your Mum?
  18. What goes around, comes around. Not as offensively though.
  19. Something here inside cannot be denied.
