How do you know you've got toadstools growing in your loco stockbox?
When you open the lid there's not much room inside...
I'll get me coat. :-)

Noted in the diary.
I last caught Fisherton Sarum on platform 4 back in 2009, it will be good to see it again. :-)

Misery loves company! :-)

Agreed, some lovely atmospheric shots there, inspirational stuff.
Many years ago my Dad had to scrap the layout we built together over nearly 20 years when moving after retirement.
As he was levering the boards apart with a jemmy I asked him how it felt - "Like drowning kittens." :-(

Nice job! That's far neater than my wiring. :-(

Cor! Lightsabers as light source!
May the force be with you...

Oh, don't you just hate it when that happens? :-(
Or when one layer of paint reacts with the layer underneath and bubbles or peels or whatever. Only thing to do is strip it all back and start again.
I would however recommend "Model Strip" for removing the paint rather than thinner, it shouldn't loosen any of the parts and has always been 100% effective when I've used it on whatever paint/varnish combo I've thrown at it. You cake on a good 2mm thick layer, put the model in an airtight bag, leave for about 10 hours and then scrub off in warm water with a toothbrush.
Available from a goodly number of model shops, a couple here:

Good luck with the move and hopefully it will be less disruptive to your modelling than my recent move was. :-(

Very interesting! I was considering using those mini fluorescent tube lights that are also used for kitchen units, bookcases etc... but I shall have a look at those in the link, everything's going LED these days...

I am still quite a way away from this myself, but nevertheless I often spend more time looking at the legs/trestles and lighting rigs of layouts for inspiration, rather than the trains at exhibitions!
Is the pelmet flush with the outside edge of the layout or set back? (With so many trestles standing around in the pics it's like deciphering an Escher drawing). The supports and hangers look really substantial, is this necessary or are you erring on the side of caution? I was thinking of trying aluminium channels (like those used for modular shelving supports).
What lighting are you planning on using?

Good luck for Tuesday, eyesight is so important. I can't do anything without reaching for my glasses anymore. :-(
Fingers crossed and I hope you see an improvement.

Remember - he who has the most toys at the end - wins! :^)

Yaaay! A tidy workbench! (I must get one of those myself one of these days.) But how long before "After" goes back to "Before"? ;-)
