  1. No definite date yet apparently as to the new liveries. I just bought the Army 802 from Kernow earlier today. They have 2 left in stock and 9 of the Queen Anne. New liveries listed are Jim, Grant Rail and Express Dairies, but all three showing as expected third quarter of 2021 and available to pre-order.
  2. There has been some discussion of this on the eBay Annoyances thread. I also received the "Final Warning" yesterday. A third option, which I have chosen, is to stop selling on eBay but keep my eBay username open for occasional purchases.
  3. Would be a nice companion for Lord Westwood - but not at that price. £4.50 maybe?
  4. My pair arrived today after their circuitous journey, including a full week sat with GLS in Ireland. Once they arrived in UK yesterday, it didn't take Parcelforce very long, and their friendly driver from Carlisle delivered the wagons this afternoon. My heart sank when I saw the big tear and bash in one corner of the outer cardboard box, however the internal Accurascale box had survived intact and no damage other than one buffer off one wagon. On glueing the buffer back on, I accidentally dislodged one of the side rails which I also then needed to re-glue. Must be more careful with these beautiful but delicate scale models.
  5. During lockdown, I swallowed my pride and sent a few eBay sales via Packlink with Hermes while they were offering free collection by the Hermes courier. The alternative meant queuing outside a claustrophobic little Spar shop in the cold, only to sometimes find when it was eventually my turn to enter, that the post office counter was closed due to staff shortage. I sold a couple of model railway items yesterday. Since all last month's sales got to the buyers safely with Hermes I considered pricing the Packlink with Hermes home collection service now that the free home collection offer has ended. I had to sign in again to eBay only to be greeted with a new page "Grant Application access" which now asks me to consent to sharing my details before I can continue to use eBay delivery services. Not doing it, considering I only have a few remaining sales over the next few days and will no longer be selling any more on eBay due to their hair-brained "managed payments" project. I'll take these last few items to the post office.
  6. My apologies, posted in wrong thread and no wish to hijack this thread. Post deleted and re-posted under Ebay Annoyances.
  7. This is also true. Only today there's a £2.24 refund into my Paypal account, an unexpected bonus from a seller who said postage cost less than he had expected.
  8. That was duly done. I gave positives on both items with a curt "Item arrived safely" and marked him down on postage charges to 3 out of 5 stars.
  9. A seller I had often bought from has been a dealer in second hand model trains for at least thirty years, he used to have a shop but now he is retired and sells on eBay. He offers combined postage. I bought two items at the same time, postage on each was £3. I requested the combined postage which he offered. He charged the full £6 but combined the two items in the one Hermes package. That extra Hornby wagon which I thought I was getting for £6.99 ended up costing £9.99. Sellers offering combined postage on eBay only means they are willing to post more than one item in the same package and apparently doesn't bind them to pass on any of their savings on postal costs to the buyer. In my personal opinion though, I did feel that his offer of combined postage in his listings was rather misleading so I no longer buy from this seller.
  10. He must have seen your post. Maybe he's a member here. Title has been changed.
  11. Agreed. I have also been notified by eBay that I am being placed on "managed payments" at the end of this month and if they don't have my bank details by then my selling facility will be disabled. I considered setting it up but eBay want all sorts of personal details for "verification" and my bank warned me that this account sharing would give eBay employees full access to my banking including current balance. Further, eBay insist the bank account must have the exact same name as the eBay seller. I can't do this as the bank account is joint with my wife. We already have individual separate Payapl accounts which we both use for other purchases besides eBay. I am not prepared to open another solo bank account just to satisfy eBay's whims. No more buying job lots and re-selling the items I don't want, so from now on I will be buying a lot less on eBay. Their loss of business, not that they will care. This weekend, with the £1 maximum fees offer will be my last hurrah at selling on eBay. I am looking out everything I might want to sell in the foreseeable future and listing it this weekend. Ten days from tomorrow takes me to 15th April and any unsold items relisted would take me up to 25th April then I'm done with eBay selling.
  12. My pair, one from the first batch and one from the new batch. I know they represent different eras, but hey a bit of modeller's licence, or rule 1, or maybe could represent a heritage railway "demonstration goods".
  13. At foot of description is "NB: I have checked the locomotive's running on the track this morning (12/02/2021) and confirm that it is an excellent runner. The note regarding it needing some attention is to cover minor detail defects should any exist." So might that be the secret to a better price for kit built wagons - describe as a loco? Recently I had two Dapol Hyfits listed, one boxed mint and one with no box and a defective buffer. There was no interest at all so when relisting I beefed up to a job lot by adding two Coopercraft and one Slaters kit built wagons and a Triang Brake Van for good measure. Got a sale this time from a 99p start but only £4.85 plus £3.20 postage for the six wagons lot.
  14. I have not had an issue with the coach lights turning themselves off randomly but a few times they have come on randomly if the coach gets bumped while being lifted on or off the layout. Also when re-packing the coach in its box, the proximity of the magnet within the box sometimes caused the lights to come on. I have four of these coaches, only one with lights and have solved this problem by storing the magnet with one of the non maglight coaches when the coaches are not in use.
  15. Over optimistic, I think, for a re-painted Lima coach which has lost its bogies. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LIMA-305656-RE-PAINTED-BR-BLUE-MK1-GUV-PARCELS-VAN-COACH-NKV-M93397-nz/363334001261?hash=item549864e26d%3Ag%3A3u4AAOSwg~JgXHYi&LH_BIN=1
  16. I posted three days ago about eBay.co.uk defaulting to ebay.com when I submitted an offer. It is happening often these days that my eBay.co.uk migrates to e.Bay.com without any prompting on my part. I was just checking my eBay Nectar points and noticed a recent £11 purchase was awarded nul points. There is an explanator that the item was purchased from a site outside of e.Bay.co.uk and therefore did not qualify for Nectar points. As far as I was aware I had purchased on eBay.co.uk and the item does indeed show on my purchase history. Luckily only an £11 purchase so only eleven points lost, but I would have been annoyed if this had been a major purchase or an item purchased on a multiple points offer.
  17. Looks like a LIma 09 in a Tri-ang box.
  18. I submitted an offer on a Dapol wagon which was listed on eBay.uk at £9.50 buy-it-now post free or "Make Offer". My offer of £8.50 was instantly declined. For the sake of £1 difference I clicked buy-it-now and purchased for £9.50. It looks like my offer was received by the seller as an offer from USA via eBay.com of eight dollars and fifty cents, which would have been less than half the asking price on eBay.com having regard to the extra cost of shipping to USA. I have to wonder why an offer which I submitted in Sterling from Scotland UK reached the seller in England UK as an offer in dollars from a buyer located in USA.
  19. A final look at the E&N at Langford on 20th May, 2012 where the track still looked to be in reasonable condition.
  20. By the date of my next visit, Victoria's small modern station stood trackless and caged off on 18th May, 2012.
  21. Qualicum Beach on 17th March, 2011, with the second last run of the daily southbound service.
  22. A short freight train from Wellington to Nanaimo's Wellcox Yard consisting of two empty cars, on 17th March, 2011, returning to the docks after unloading on the island. Hauled south through Qualicum Beach by a pair of GP9s. One of the last trains around here. Passenger trains ended the following day and freight a few months later.
  23. Passengers accessing the daily southbound train at Nanaimo, 16th March 2011. Due to the station building having been damaged by fire, passengers boarded the train from a parking lot on the opposite side of the line from the station. This temporary arrangement ended two days later when the passenger train ceased to run.
  24. Budd RDC #6148 at Courtenay, 9th March, 2011, with the daily train just arrived from Victoria. I finally got to ride the section north of Qualicum Beach just nine days before the end of the service.
