  1. Fry's Somerdale Sentinel construction article to feature in the December 2020 Issue of Railway Modeller! The step by step guide follows on from my recent 'Plan of the Month' article on the Somerdale site, which featured in the October 2020 Issue of the magazine. In the article I show you how I created the locomotive from a Hardy's Hobbies 3D Printed body kit, including adding the new lining kit from Railway Mania. The magazine is on sale from the 12th November 2020. Hope you enjoy!
  2. A short running session to mark Remembrance Sunday, and remember all those who have served and fallen, including the many brave men and women who served on the railways during times of conflict. To mark the occasion, I've put together this short running session featuring a number of clips of my 009 WW1 Trench Railway - Amiens 1918, as well as a slideshow featuring a selection of locomotives from my Railway Operating Division fleet. "At the going down of the Sun, we will Remember them".
  3. 7th - 8th November 2020 would have seen the fourth Annual Wincanton Model Railway Exhibition held at King Arthur School, Wincanton, Somerset. However, like many Model Railway Exhibition around this year, the event had to sadly be cancelled. So to mark the occasion, I've picked some of my favourite layouts from previous years to create this special Wincanton Model Railway Exhibition highlights video, showcasing a wide selection of amazing model railways, in a variety of scales and gauges. All being well, the show hopes to return bigger and better than ever next year! Hope you enjoy!
  4. Working on an edit which will feature the model chuffing (Hopefully some of my real sound files of a 3F will be a close enough match).
  5. A short running session on 00 Micro Layout - Fry's Somerdale featuring my Bachmann British Rail Class 08, 08935 edited with Real Sound. In this video we see the 08 shunting deliveries into the Somerdale site, before returning with load vans of produce. Sounds are provided by fellow Class members recorded during visits to various local preserved railways over the years. Hope you enjoy!
  6. Indeed! Feel SDJR stock is very much over due, especially with the popularity of the livery and the number of RTR models in SDJR too, compared to say LNWR (referring to number of RTR locos on the market) which is a livery due to be released in the first batch...
  7. I know. But batch 3 is not confirmed (was trying to get them moved to batch 2 at least)
  8. I've been try to twist Hattons arm since announcement of the coaches! I think they might have underestimated their popularity... Especially with something like this!
  9. I was the same with the panic when trying to order
  10. Just ordered over the phone, very helpful staff. Was in a bit of a panic as I didn't have my club no. to hand, as that is still delivered to the family address (I've just moved out). Order places, with it hopefully turning up to my new address (if we are still locked in by then)... Panic over...
  11. SDJR 1P!!!! Just expressed interested with the order form... Don't think this has been done before. Doesn't tell you if your details were submitted etc, would be gutted if I missed out on this one...
  12. Ah, wish I could find some sooner! Just fitted them...
  13. 24th - 25th October 2020 would have seen the Somerset Railway Modellers Club host their Annual Rail-Ex Taunton - Model Railway Exhibition at Taunton School, Taunton, Somerset. However, like many Model Railway Exhibition around this year, the event had to sadly be cancelled. So to mark the occasion, I've picked some of my favourite layouts from previous years to create this special Rail-Ex Taunton - Model Railway Exhibition highlights video, showcasing a wide selection of amazing model railways, in a variety of scales and gauges. All being well, the show hopes to return bigger and better than ever next year! Hope you enjoy!
  14. Many thanks indeed! Always wanted a work bench so wanted to check what was the best height! Hopefully will be a comfortable set-up
  15. With the recent house move to Devon, it's been a very busy past couple of months. However, with the house renovations nearing completion, I've finally managed to make a start on the most important room... The Railway Room! Despite being 8ft x 7ft I've got big plans for the room, with an integrated workbench for both my personal and Railway Modeller modelling projects , as well as plenty of shelving to maximise the space and storage. In this first update I give you a guided tour of the room, taking a look at the custom built workbench, baseboards and shelves, as well as discuses future plans for the room, including a little tease for a possible future layout... I hope to bring you lots more updates on the progress of the layout over the coming weeks. Let me know what you think... Hope you enjoy!

  17. Hi Neal, just found this post and am very interested to see what the results are. Do you have a video of the model in action?
  18. Ah thought that would be the case, got my email in almost as soon as I got it. Hopefully they'll reply soon, as the issue is I keep looking back at the list and think... hmmm, that would be nice...
  19. Yeah, spotted that after uploading. Was a bit of rush to get this one done on a busy evening, will have to give it another go at some point
  20. A short running session featuring the superb Hornby Collett 5101 Class 'Large Prairie' 2-6-2T, edited with real sound. Sounds are provided by a number of similar class members from my sound collection, captured at various Gala and Preserved Railways over the past few years. Here we see No. 4154 finished in smart GWR Green livery in action, hauling a short rake of GWR clerestory coaches. Hope you enjoy!
  21. Still have yet to receive a response to my order list yet. Anyone else heard back from the same email address?
  22. Late evenings shunting... Fry's Somerdale Sentinel works a short rake of van from factory site to the station forecourt.
  23. Only joined earlier this year, so never got to do one of the club members days. Ah well. Some very tempting items at tempting prices for the last sale. Managed to fight off temptation for items I know I don't really need, but ordered a few I know I want. Do we send the forms back to the same email or is there a sales dept to send the list off too?
  24. Welcome another instalment on my Model Railway Workbench, taking another look behind the scenes at some of the modelling projects I've been working on over the past few weeks and months. In this episode, we start by taking a closer look at a number of locomotive kits I've been working on, including the 009 Baguley McEwan Pratt ‘677’ 10HP Class 0-4-0PM from Narrow Planet and the Railway Mania Avonside B4 0-6-0st. I've also been working a number of handy photography planks to help with photographing and filming my modelling projects for videos and work, as well as lining out my Fry's Sentinel, with the help of some new custom transfers! Hope you enjoy!
