  1. Morning all. I'm currently in the process of repainting a couple of coaches into S&DJR Prussian Blue and was wondering if anyone had any info on the styles of liveries used. I'm very familiar with the wonderful lined out design ( though, I'm holding out for Hatton's to replicate this on their 'Genesis' coaches, all being well), but have seen a number of layouts feature a slightly more 'Simpler' livery, which I guess is a later variant? 'Chewton Mendip' (as seen in the screen shots below from one of my videos of the layout at various exhibitions) features stock in the livery, which is look I wish to go for. The coaches in question I'm currently painter are the new Hornby 'Generic' 4 & 6 wheelers (so far from prototypical, but will hopefully look the part). So far I've painted the ends black (though just I've just spotted they are blue in the images), though I might stay with the black rather than stripping them again. Any info would be much appreciated.

  15. Sunday 17th January 2021 would of seen the annual Weston-Super-Mare Model Railway Show at the Campus, Worle, Somerset. The winter exhibition is one of my favourites shows of the year, and proves to be more and more popular each year, with the event and show organiser Keith Price raising thousands for a good cause. Sadly in late 2020 Keith passed away after a long term illness. In memory of Keith, I've picked some of my favourite layouts from previous years to create this special Weston-Super-Mare - Model Railway Exhibition tribute video, showcasing a wide selection of amazing model railways, in a variety of scales and gauges. All being well it is hoped a special memorial show will take place in January 2022. In memory of Keith Price
  16. You can imagine how surprised I was!
  17. Crimson set just arrived from them! The BR Crimson livery is very nice done. Plan is to put them into service on "Lyncombe Vale", forming a 'what if' Highbridge service, where SDJR 4 & 6 wheelers survived into BR...

  19. Sound like SDJR livery might become a bit of a race as to who will do it first... Will be interesting to see who wins...
  20. Every excited by these little machines! Perfect for micros! Might even seen the Roundtree one make a visit to Fry's Somerdale... Fingers crossed for a Bath Gas works Green & Red one in the future!
  21. Hi all. Just came across this topic along with others on Mazak Rot. I'm currently looking at a BR T9, sadly these seem to be polithic for having issues with the motor mount. I understand there is a brass replacement from Peter Spares, however I was wondering if the rot just effects this area on the models, isolated to that part or if left, could is spread to other parts? The motor mount looks an easy job, but don't want to purchase it find it has spread other components (if that's what the rot does that is).
  22. Yes, it very much does. I filmed this straight from the box. Sadly currently can't give her a good run in as the photo-plank I filmed it on is only 72cm (while the main layout is under construction). Was slightly better towards the end of filming, but not much
  23. A short running session featuring the eagerly anticipated Hornby R3825 - Peckett W4 0-4-0ST - "614" - Centenary Year Limited Edition in dazzling photographic grey. Limited to just 2000 models the loco come in a commemorative display box along with a resin miniature builder's plate. In this video we see the Peckett action, shunting a selection of wagons and vans on my photo-plank micro layout. Hope you enjoy!
  24. Can't wait to see them in action at some point (when shows return). Just picked up my 58072 yesterday (she'll be on the the weathering bench soon too). Can't remember wait to see what weathering plans you have for 54!
