  1. Here are some platform figures for a commission customer ... 4mm 1/76 I guess the flowers must be for his Mum ?
  2. I wasn't too sure about the roof covering but now it's all finished it looks great I like that one
  3. I really like that And i think the angke of the exhaust makes it look more interesting than vertical What colour will it be ?
  4. I love this layout. It was my favourite layout at the Uckfield show last year.
  5. I really like that Peter That said I bet when he conducted initial testing he soon got fed up with the exhaust fumes blowing in his face through the window. Did he bend the exhaust outlet vertical to shoot the fumes over the cab roof later on or did he decide to leave it like that ?
  6. I spend all day every day painting figures to order for people and it's a great job of course But every now and again I grab something I fancy and sneak it into a batch This is what I treated myself to this week - one of the lovely 4mm Stadden figures...
  7. Thanks Graham Do I assume then that it would be too much work to backdate the model ?
  8. Will these models be suitable ( with a repaint ) to represent the locos as they were when they were operated by the LSWR - say 1905 to 1915 ?
  9. Hi Pete Thanks for the reply I am in the middle of having another look online for the books Thanks for the offer a summary but if it is too much of a job please dont put yourself out. To be honest I didnt realise it would be such a big and complicated subject But thats ok as it sounds like it will be interesting when I do find the books
  10. Hi Bill Thanks for the reply I have the last one but have not yet found either of the first two for sale at a sensible price I would like to apoligise to anyone who was considering giving me a little help and now feels that doing so would make them "stupid" Please note the above said tongue in cheek
  11. Could anyone tell me something about what coaches were in use on the LSWR - around 1910 -1915 ish I am struggling to find any information
  12. One of my customers is building a layout based in period just before D-Day Did these for him recently - 4mm scale 1/76 Some Auxiliary Drivers and a bunch of squaddies washing, shaving etc. These are resin figures - hard to work with but came out well I think ...
  13. You did what !!!! All that work and you just cut it back - see that's dedication to getting it right
  14. Hi Martin Do you have a similar picture that shows how we should be doing the same thing to flat bottom rail ?
  15. I don't think you have seen these Some 4mm Bin Men and a Milky ( the bins all have numbers on to match the door numbers on the layouts street scene )
  16. I don't think the lady on the left is impressed with the lady in the middle's attire
  17. I often paint figures that are sent to my by the customer and often its easy to quote via email or over the phone. Sometimes doing that will catch you out This is a 4mm figure Fiddly Fiddly Fiddly - Bad Cat ! Pleased with how this came out - I have painted him as our cat Freddy ( known to his friends and 'Gingy Puss' ) I know what you are thinking ... " doesn't look too tricky " BUT
  18. Excellent as always I wondered what a Tilly would look like and now I know
  19. Sometimes you get a figure to paint that you really believe is a real person - the sculptor just captures a moment in time. This is another great figure from dart castings. I really enjoyed painting this one - oh he is a 4mm 1/76 figure ..
  20. Hi Chris Like the name but I should warn you she seems to not be shy of an opinion She has been sat in the drying cabinet which overlooks my benches and boy does she go on "have you cleaned that airbrush properly" "no, that's too much primer" "do you think that new brush is as good as the last one" " I don't like that red" really looking forward to posting her off to you
