Just 60009 going like a rocket on the VSOE, hard to think this maybe the last time a BR Green A4 is seen on Pullman’s.
-
Just a pair of large logo blue class 37/4s heading through Clapham Junction in rush hour.
-
Just seen a retro class 66 in Large logo blue on a railtour ecs, whilst the heritage class 50’s are in modern image GBRF... how ironic.

After enjoying yesterdays spin on the WCML, today I put on black and drove out to Heathrow and said good bye to Her Majesty, I had good fortune to see her thrice, from a distance, at the Opening of Metrolink in 1991, on the Royal Train in 2021 and today..
5 very well spent hours that I will never forget.
so many people out today, covering the entire route from London to Windsor.. 22 miles, 44 miles of people on both sides sometimes several deep…. I’d seen Winston Churchills funeral train on films and discuss the public reaction but never thought I’d feel it for real…

Today I’m heading up the wcml, to ride on a blue class 86 and blue and grey mk2’s on scheduled passenger services…
Tonight I will ride an Intercity class 90 and mk3’s also on Scheduled passenger services…
would you ever think that in 2022 ?

We’ll what a night,
90002 on the 1923 Euston to Manchester.
Avanti canceled it’s 1923 and it’s clear the message crossed at Euston as 90002 arrived considerably full at Rugby.
Quite why Avanti at Rugby were telling passengers it’s 2024 (1923 ex Euston) to Manchester was canceled and to board the LMR service to Crewe and seek assistance was beyond me though… the LSL service definitely had space and was running in the same path as the 2024..or course the Crewe LMR arrived, with passengers falling out the doors it was so rammed.

I must admit that I've always liked Mk2 coaches - and class 86 and 87 locos.
Also, the rail blue / rail blue and grey colour schemes just looked "right" to me.
OK - I was born in the mid 1960s - so these colours were what I grew up with. As for the locos, they're what I saw during my industrial training.
I could imagine a number of people being delighted to encounter this sort of fare on the WCML again.

Took me 12 hours to get to Dublin on BA on Tuesday. Flight canceled from LHR 3 hours before departure and rebooked from LCY.. good job I checked my email.
My company is paying 400 Eur a night for a budget hotel in Dublin, but not before it took an hour just to get a cab out of the airport.Dublin itself is packed..
Now on my way back and my 10am flight turned into a stand by for a 4pm flight.
Tues-Thus we’re traditionally pre-covid the “dead” days when flying, I can honestly say I’ve never seen airports so busy and it’s not yet holiday season ..
It’s crazy…
on the upside I’ve a Prawn salad and a Morreti in a rather packed airport bar, and bagged one last class 55 to add to my depot.

Very appropriate flight number tonight for me .. BA 4468 .. hoping it’s faster than it’s number-sake
