  1. As we have seen from Tractors reply, the pick ups dont actually touch the wheels..............I am not familiar with this pick up method....so should we now assume its not quite the easy fix. From a brief look at my pals model yesterday( see my posted video #555 ) there appeared no easy fix at that moment. He is a pretty good railway modeller....but is NOT about to tackle this one. It goes back to his model shop next week for attention. Interestingly, his email reply from Bachmann did suggest a return to the dealer for attention, should be perhaps his first port of call, and they would address the issue. I wonder if retailers are recompensed for any re work required.??
  2. I didnt update my iphone thanks to picking up the msg on here from Kevpeo......I noticed today that the update version number had changed to 1.8.3 from 1.8.2 I have updated Touchcab on my iphone and will try it all out this evening. Bob Sorry a bit late in adding.......everything is perfect from my perspective......very happy.
  3. I popped round to my pals this afternoon, to see the performance of one of these errant class 40's Good grief.!!!!!!!
  4. Hi Guys Can anyone post me a link of the latest Legomanbiffo class 31 sound project please. Thanks.....Bob.
  5. Thank Ian.....my B1 is on order as we speak...!!! Rgds.......Bob.
  6. Hi Ian, I dont doubt you for a minute, but I would have remembered if I saw one......I lived on the north edge of Crewe, close to the WC main line. I wonder, did these work in via Derby, Egginton Jnc, Uttoxeter, Stoke.......some local friends here in Uttoxeter say they also saw "sixers" through Uttoxeter, but they then took the Old Clog and Knocker line to Stafford.....long gone now. Bob.
  7. Brilliant, how appropriate.................why wait for it to go into service..!!
  8. I am informed that 70803 is to be named "Great Eastern", and 70805 to be named "Titanic". Apparently all to do with these ships famous and long association with Liverpool.........as with the locos.
  9. 61233 at Crewe...???? I was born and bred in Crewe, son of a 5A fireman/driver, and I was 15 in 1963...height of my spotting career.......but never ever saw a "sixer" in Crewe. Was it working.........or on the scrap line possibly on Crewe South.?? Bob
  10. Thanks for the heads up Kev........I'm not experiencing any difficulties with my current version......so will hang fire doing any upgrade. Thanks....Bob.
  11. Worth remembering you get what you pay for. But if you spend a hundred quid or more on a fine loco, I personally would fit better decoders. If they are DCC Concepts decoders, they are sort of ok ish, but there are better, e.g. Lenz Just my opinion
  12. I'd love to know the real reason they are still there.......but as they are the first imports for Colas, you do wonder if they didnt fill in all the necessary paperwork etc., I wonder if Seaforth Dock Authority are charging them rent too.??
  13. Thanks for directions Dave, my pal successfully followed them and saw both locos yesterday in the docks around lunchtime..
  14. Yes, this seems quite odd.....as they have clearly beened craned off the trailers they arrived on, but are still on what looks like wooden blocks or chocs...???
  15. A friend of mine wants to go to liverpool on saturday and try to see these locos....he wants to know what is the closest station he has to get off at...and the precise location he has to get to. Any help.??? Thanks....Bob.
  16. Not sure how true this is....but I was told today that they are now awaiting the arrival of another loco so that all 3 can be moved together.??? Doesnt sound that plausible to me......and not sure even if another loco has been shipped yet.??
  17. Tried to have close look at the pics of them on the trailers....I cant see any rails.??
  18. No...you're right Pete.....so perhaps that is the current stumbling block. What a fiasco.!!!!!
  19. I thought the lift off the trailers had already taken place.??
  20. So....how close is this to the real thing.??
  21. So...here we are in the second week after their arrival. Any thoughts on what is delaying the move......and when it might now be.??
  22. So the Canton loco is repainted in Colas colours........what is the likely next move for this loco, and when.???? Is it likely to join the Colas fleet soon.??
  23. I'm afraid its the risk you take, in my opinion, when you buy something unseen. I restrict my purchases to model shops, exhibitions and toy fairs, where I can see and examine the item before I buy. Ebay and online prices may seem attractive, but can let you down. I have never used Hattons to buy from online, and only very rarely had to resort to that method of purchase when left with no other option. On a visit to Liverpool with friends a few weeks ago, we visited Hattons.....I'm afraid it left me cold as a model shop goes. Lack of atmosphere that I am familiar with at other local model shops, and I hardly think you might get offered a cup of tea. The impression I got was that it just about the sale, which is important I accept, but at the expense of any friendly small talk. This is all just my opinion and impression, as I also accept that the service they offer online is second to none. Bob PS......I assume you are from Oz, so you are left with few options ........ good luck.
  24. So....the new Colas 70's are to be left to rust away in the salt water of Seaforth Docks.....??????
  25. Thanks Coach You confirmed my thoughts, mores the pity.! Maybe later for the rebuilt version. we can live in hope. Bob
