  1. I predict a Class 91 and full Mk4 train, a redone class 37, Mgr coal hopper and a class 59 all in the shops for Xmas!
  2. The other thing we could see is some more EFE rail items which are not reliant on space at Bachmann's own production facilities and from the last announcements seem to have sold well.
  3. Just got email from Bachmann about announcement it states that some of the new models are in stock ready for shipping to retailers the following week and there will be several new collectors club models launched at the same time.
  4. Very true I guess Bachmann will give retailer the choice of what stage in project to announce it to the public.
  5. I had forgotten about the rebuild I was just curious how 1 commission is so much further along than the other as both launched at same time maybe Rails have been pushing there project along quicker with Bachmann. But as you say it will get here eventually.
  6. I remember pre-ordering both Caley 812 and G5 at Model rail Scotland a couple of years ago when they were both launched its interesting how Rails have Livery samples this week and Tmc seem to have a further delay. I wonder if there have been issues getting information/drawings for G5 where as the 812 can be measured from the real thing and back dated as needed?
  7. I wonder if we will get a SDJR blue version for the next collectors club model in November?
  8. I believe the original use of the canopy was for load in Scotland it may have been the mines were not producing as fine coal and it was volume rather than weight increase. The use of canopy for dust was late 80s and 90s when other wagons were also had canopy added presumably it was noticed the reduction in dust from some of the finer coal used in other areas from the original build wagons.
  9. If I remember correctly part of the reason they were used so much in Scotland was the extra capacity of the wagon increased the load per train as many of the loops on the routes used could not take longer train and many of the lines in central Scotland had limited paths due to more frequent passenger services so extra trains were hard to path.
  10. The rep advised Hornby had decided to produce new bodies but production slot was still being arrange and he could not give a date, there are more Scotrail hst's due this year so maybe done around this time although they are not the buffered version that are in NR yellow.
  11. I requested mine through local shop same as body for recent construction class 60 so both ways are an option but shop had to request them via Hornby rep.
  12. This is the reduced price from £170 but with retailer discount of 15% they will be around £127 and after 8 weeks they can reduce further, although I suspect they could sell well as some people have been put off by Hattons issues.
  13. Speaking to the owner of Scoonie Hobbies on Saturday and he was trying to order some more class 17's and there were only 2 versions left in stock at Bachmann, it would seem that sales have been good so hopefully this will see more added to the range in future.
  14. I think the solution appears to be here already with EFE rail, hopefully we will see more releases in the future of Kernow exclusives via EFE
  15. I was informed by my local shop that Hornby have offered additional models to pre order today to him as stock had become available from another retailer no longer trading with them. It did not mention who (we now know its Rails) but Hornby moving fast to redistribute pre order stock to other shops.
  16. I ordered one each of the VTG blue versions yesterday and a couple of numbers down to single figures if anyone is thinking about these better be quick.
  17. According to the Bachmann Times the model is at the drawing room/cad design stage now but there is still a small chance for samples before the end of the year if we are lucky.
  18. Bachmann times has these listed as EP samples on the way so hopefully some pictures soon
  19. Sorry I meant no offense this was not a dig at Accurascale or your business model, I am a happy customer with many of your products but more to try to show how different companies and pricing models are in the industry and how a traditional model company Bachmann supplying some of these models to trade would differ from say a direct sales to customer model ( who are now also supplying shops direct) differ and lead to some of the prices being higher than some may have been expecting.
  20. On the subject of price remember Bachmann have to include the retailers mark up in their pricing so our shops can make money and stay open. Bachmann are very supportive of the retailers and give good margins which shops can choose to discount or not. Some of these models in the past were priced as direct sales (such as kernow wagons) so prices did not include this extra margin. I spoke to my local shop when Accurascale and Hattons for example offered retail terms and margins were much lower which is why you never get these discounted even by the box shifters, and their prices seem much cheaper by comparison at rrp but if these were made at usual retailer mark up these prices would as expensive or maybe higher.
  21. I am hoping we might get one of these announced on Tuesday by Bachmann.
  22. It's a new range of face masks with your favourite Hornby Locos through the years!
  23. Very pleased to hear this and again positive they are trying to correct errors on models that in past would have been ignored.
  24. I am hoping they retool the A1 next similar to the new LMS princess and then we won't have the Ski slope issue anymore.
