I do like this composition, especially with the (your?) family group. Perhaps half a second earlier so as to get the whole loco in (and avoid the telegraph pole growing out of it)?
Yes - but that doesn't necessarily mean they were all piped up. Train classification was related to timing speeds. If a train didn't need to be piped up to satisfy the classification the shunters probably wouldn't bother doing so.
There have been reports over many years of sub-optimal behaviour when running on DCC with DC enabled on the decoder. Whether this is still true with modern chips and/or when stay-alives are fitted, I don't know. Since my locos never need to run on DC I always disable it. With JMRI DecoderPro it's a single click of the mouse.
Great film! In this still, for the first time, I see that while the tram running rails have been removed and/or tarmacked over, the conduit slot has not.
