  1. They don’t need to decide, they just need to do all 3 together!
  2. There are photos of 012 in large logo without headlight which I think I recall researching whether the original Baccy LL version was prototypical with out headlight. I concluded it was and ran for a few months like that before getting its headlight. Which basically must equate to it didn’t have a headlight at any point whilst in blue (with or without white stripe).
  3. Thanks Mark, there’s a hole in the solebar so looks like it should slot back in, I’ve just not had time to have a proper look.
  4. I too have just received one with a loose weight. Actually 3 wagons, one with loose weight and one with brake lever dropped off. They seemed well wrapped with bubble wrap etc so not sure if delivery company is being a bit heavy handed? I’ve not had chance to look further yet at fixing so useful info, other than that they look fantastic.
  5. Just wondering, has anyone attempted or plan to attempt to remove the white stripe from 027 to give a post ‘84 version with headlight for renumbering? I remember a question way back about removing the numbers and I believe Fran suggested that they should come off pretty easily.
  6. Hi there. A bit of a belated reply to the Bachmann snowploughs, but the Bachmann-Spares website have had them fairly recently. I’ve not checked but had plenty when I ordered some. Certainly more use than the new ones as I’m sure a majority of users will have some sort of coupling in the NEM slot.
  7. I do t know if you’ve looked recently but the website seems to be back up and running. I must admit I was starting to fear the worst. Great little outfit, always sensible prices and good services.
  8. You appear to have forgotten to announce the Ballast Cleaner that goes with it! And while your at it let’s have a tamper also to keep it company!
  9. That's fantastic thank you Paul, some real interesting stuff coming out here although I think I might have to extend my garage to make room for a big enough fiddle yard to hold everything! I'm wondering, were the Warwell's etc loaded there or did they just lay over? I'm assuming they were probably for new build from Vickers or was it closed by the mid 80's. Also intrigued by the description Newcastle Full Loads, was this a local name or some other reference?
  10. Thanks again for all the info, this is starting to throw up more than I'd expected. Especially the use of the reception lines for staging/onward movements and departmental workings. I'm still evolving thoughts for my own layout which may well see a scaled down version as I don't have space and me move the depot to the Team Valley area as was originally hoping for something based on the Newcastle to Carlisle line (excuse to run the odd 25, 26 and 27 in the mid 80's) and I've not got room for full length freights on the main lines. The receptions could then be used for staging moves for the Blaydon/Prudhoe working as well as call off for the Hexham trip and plenty of industry in Team Valley in the 80's plus the start of the Metro Centre. That said the more posted on here I'm thinking if there was space this would make quite an impressive exhibition layout with the main line traffic behind.
  11. If you want to get your juices flowing try this site. Some modern stuff and some very interesting 80s stuff.
  12. There was also a partially decorated 25/1 body shell at York on the SLW stand (from memory painted but not handrails etc) although it was quite tucked away it was definitely there - plates over doors and horns on roof so fairly confident it wasn’t a 24/1. Unfortunately I didn’t take a photo as too busy ordering one of the blue later bodied 25’s.
  13. Brilliant, thank you for both replies, very insightful. Interesting that the Gateshead fuel tanks came from TCFD, did they come there directly from the terminals around Jarrow or did the Freight depot have fuel storage? Many Thanks
  14. Thanks, very informative. That possibly explains some of the more random/eclectic things there if it was also used for staging/holding. I just wish you hadn’t mentioned the Cartic4 as that might get expensive! Also interesting that the 08 shunted the yard and the 03 ran the trip. Seems enough variety for a bit of licence as well!
  15. Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help. I’m looking for a bit more info/photos of TCFD as I’m planning out a new layout based around the North East and am looking at whether something inspired by the depot would work on a smaller scale. I can’t really find much on Google other than a few photos of an 08 shunting some tanks. I’m particularly looking at what types of traffic did it handle, what sort of workings did it receive and from where? I’m looking at circa 1986/. Many Thanks
  16. It’s worth noting that the 25/9’s are only being sold as a pair. They were also running on Reevy Road West and looked/sounded fantastic. I also ordered 25296 to replace my pre-order for a 24/1 as I’ve decided to change location/era (again). Stunning models and can’t wait for mine.
  17. Brilliant news, thanks. I will hang on rather than go for Bauxite on that basis as that’s what I’m really after.
  18. Just wondering if anyone knows of and stockists that still have the Railfreight BBA’s available? I’ve searched quite a bit and can’t see any but wondering if I’ve missed anything. Alternatively, when did Bauxite ones last until in traffic? There seems to be a decent amount of those still available, my need will be 1986/7 period. unless of course there’s any rumours of a batch 3 - just all R/F ones, you know you need to.
  19. Many Thanks, that’s brilliant. Looking at the hinges it now makes sense to have the section lifting up rather than dropping down as easier to get hinges straight and level from the top, plus presumably you can drop the board onto a fixed block.
  20. Hi Andy, a question I’ve been meaning to post for some time. How did you set up the lifting section in terms of the woodwork and hinges side of things as well as track alignment? I need to do something similar and on a curve like yours but the thought of getting something that lines up and returns reliably enough to run trains scares me a bit! No doubt you’ve covered it before but it’s probably buried somewhere in one of your long layout topics! Many Thanks
  21. Thanks for that, looks better than the one in the shop. Possibly the widening of the strips on the roof has accumulated a bit of paint and also accentuated the appearance of the paint sagging. I hadn’t realised the strips were not easily width all the way across. I don’t think the gloss helps either which is maybe why the weathered roof looks better.
  22. I was looking at the T&W model yesterday in my local shop as I’m changing my layout to something based around Hexham area. I noticed that the model on display seems to have significant amounts of paint ‘sag’ at the bottom of the roof within each rivet bay. It didn't seem as noticeable on the Valleys one and the 2 weathered ones looked fine (ignoring the weathering!). The shop was too busy to ask for a look at others in stock, has anyone else noticed similar or is this a one off bad un?
  23. For info if anyone has missed out, I’ve just cancelled my pre-order for 37043 sound fitted with Rails (only because I’m changing era nothing negative) and the website appears to be showing pre-order available.
  24. Thanks, at least it’s not me! My cards expired hence trying to update. I will give them a bell.
  25. Quick question if anyone can help please. I am trying to make sure my bank details are up to date on my Rails account (Accurascale 37 on pre-order and hopefully here soon). I can't find anywhere in my account to check or add card details, am I missing something or looking in the wrong place? I can ring when they are back open from xmas if needs be but just wondering if there's something obvious? Many Thanks
