  1. Right, thanks, I'll have to make my own then....I'll figure out a way! Jack.
  2. Really?! That is surprising, mind I s'pose almost all the classes have already been done in n and 00....
  3. Looking great Lee, Just wondering, what do you do if someone asks you to repaint an engine to EWS colours now the transfers aren't available? Jack.
  4. Hi Mick, Stanchions are looking great, are they the right size (ish)? Now.....could you please rack your brains and remember the first project you detailed on this thread, and the genny 6263.... I want to model this coach (in the modern way with doors filled), and have seen the grills on the roof, but you never said who makes them or what you fashioned them of (I don't think...) http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/53157-newbryfords-mostly-yellow-workbench/?p=631877 Please could you enlighten me? Ta, Jack.
  5. HI, Sorry I haven't updated for a while, I just haven't had any time I've been busy making a new chassis for a Hornby cl 20 to be a DRS one, as I find the current one a little bulky. I could reinstate the motor, but I don't know whether I'll bother. There's a progression of pics showing this. I have also started to smooth down the window frames for the etched reinforced ones. I have filled in the holes at the top of the DRS 37 with some plastic strip, and it should be effective once filed down. I wonder how much longer '259, or any other 37s in DRSs fleet, will stay in the old compass livery, seeing as 37423 and 37218 have already been changed... The Bufferbeam on the VT 57 is finished, and I am making a start on adding the marker lights that are absent on it. I have soldered up 2 0603 type LEDs and mounted them in the black plastic light surround, and have half made a circuit board to be powered off the decoder light outputs. I've added the TMD cables to the 67 using thin stainless steel wire, and also I think I need to get on with some projects in the drawer...a Colas/DBS 'tug'? A DBS/Royal 'skip'? A DRS 'Skoda'? A Colas 'Sparkie'? Who knows......... Jack.
  6. Is the slope on the underside too gradual? You've got me intrigued! Jack.
  7. Great work Lee, loving all the projects on the go When a customer commissions you to do a project, do you have to stick to exactly what they say, or do you add your own touch to some things? Just curious, Jack.
  8. Great job as usual Mick, I tried making a KFA a while ago, when I was younger...and much less experienced...and made a total mess of it... I took some detail pics then, so I've attached them and a few I took of a newer batch of imported ones at Carlisle...if you fancy having a crack at them too... These may be useful to anyone else attempting them, so I've posted them here instead of sending you a PM. Hope they're ok, thanks, Jack.
  9. What's happened to Realtime Trains? Nothing has been reported since 1700....it says it's receiving 'limited Realtime data'

    1. CovDriver

      CovDriver

It often goes on a go slow or stops reporting it's usually back up and running after a few hours

Ok thanks, just that I totally rely on it, so if it goes down I'm screwed, and I was gonna go out tonight...but oh well...

  10. I've just posted some more in my class 37 gallery and my spotting thread (Links in Signature). (Sorry, can't post links because of IE11.... ) Jack.

I think everyone's got some form of cold now, but I've never tried a curry as a remedy Jaz! May do that tomorrow....

  14. HI, Not done an update for a while...so here goes... My new laptop doesn't let me add the photos to the post, so for now ill have to number them. 1. The class 67 has had the lights painted black and TMD lower cable boxes fitted, that's it... 2. In one of the nuclear flask wagons, I have added a Black Cat Tech. flasher unit, which is really compact, and with a bit of butchery can be fitted in 3, The 37 needed a window blanking, so this is the backplate fitted before filler. 4. The 37 bogies have had the axleboxes painted and the springs. 5. The bufferbeams have been fully detailed with PHDesigns ploughs, and pipes. 6. This was the test run of the reassembled chassis, and I popped the body on to see what it would be like. 7. I also took out the 2 little pins on the bottom of the bogie, which lowers the ride height enough to make it sit better on the bogies. The only problem is the slight discrepancy in the height of wagons compared to the buffers, but I can live with that 8. I have re kindled the VT 57 project, and have since detailed the bufferbeams with all the pipes, and made jumper cables out of elastic. 9. Finally, here's a pic of the flask wagon with the tail lamp lit up. Jack.
  15. Hi, Hope this is the right thread, Saw this on Flickr... https://www.flickr.com/photos/ews60002/13332663164/in/photostream/ How many are there that run like this? Is the wagon the same as Dapol's offering? Could make an interesting project... Jack.
  16. Anyone else who has an NCE Powercab received a new IC socket to upgrade it?

  17. Tut tut Nick....You said it would be the last one 2 batches ago Anyway, you make brilliant RHTTs, so I'm sure this one will be just as good... Loving the GB/Fastline hoppers, I'll send you some pictures of some soon that I took at Barnetby that may help. Keep the great work coming! Jack
  18. Looking ace Lee, even though 40s and 33s aren't my era Good luck with the 70, I'm presuming it will be a colas one? Apparently they're a PITA to mask up... Jack.
  19. Is wondering whether the Royal Train appears on Real Time Trains?

    1. Metr0Land

      Metr0Land

No and it doesn't appear on Trust or anything else that feeds RTT either. They have clever ways of making it disappear so that only those who need to know, do so.

Wait for a post and consult the Royal diaries, then put 2 + 2 and hope for 4

  20. Kal and Jaz.... You have been busy... I haven't had much time free to browse the 30 or so pages on here since I've last read, and WOW!!! Figures really do light a layout up, especially when painted to your standards! All the dogs (and Sasquatch) are epic, the dogs could be spider-dog when just twisted wire... Everything done is brilliant, but you should have the 2 Star Wars figures fighting the Yeti to defend AV from him. Keep up the great work, Jack.
  21. Thanks Jaz & Welcome Elgan, makes me feel that it's not all a waste of time! Stat Rep............... Nothing at all has been done because of family plans / school / workbench / girls entering my life! I have glued a quarter of the cork down, but all will hopefully be down very soon...then let track laying commence! TFN... Jack.
  22. Ahh, but I've just heard there's now 20 in Colas' mitts, so have they upped the number because they've realised that they are utter beasts?! Really looking forward to a lemon yellow/orange 'tug'! Jack.
  23. Hmmm, class 86 wheels...really.... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/X6409-Hornby-Spare-WHEEL-SET-DRIVE-UNIT-CLASS-86-/130971071781?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item1e7e7bf525 Seller says they are spares for a Hornby R3058 class 86637 in Freightliner livery...picture doesn't look right Makes me wonder how much he knows about railways! Jack.

Haha yeah, if I had put 'my car', it makes the car sound like I own it, but I'm only a teenager!
