Scalelink does not have wheels suitable for a Jinty.

  2. Anyone know where I can buy Markits wheels besides from Markits?

Southeast doesnt stock the Jinty wheels and theres no way I can contact them to ask.

Mainly trains doesnt stock the jinty wheels either.

  3. Well. The mail finally decided to come. Now I need to get wheels before continuing.

  4. It seems my London Road Jinty is lost in the post.

      Londontram

That's a pain when that happens but hopefully you will be covered

    2. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

Sorry to hear about that. Was it in kit form or assembled?

      Spitfire2865

      Kit form jinty chassis.

  5. Trying my hand at scratchbuilding a FR covered van. Not sure how inside sliding doors should be modelled...

  6. Would love to do some actual modeling. Too bad I have absolutely nothing to do.

I'll send you some of my backlog if you want

I'm sure there's a Lima Gronk bodyshell you could saw up....

      Spitfire2865

Being stuck at uni, theres not much besides homework to do!

Would love to scratchbuild but in my experience, if I dont build a body with a chassis on hand, no amount of extra work will result in that chassis fitting.

I could mass produce 4mm scale packing crates...

  7. I hate buisnesses that dont honor the responsibilities of running a buisness.

It bugs me that people dont check business emails and dont keep up to date. Sometimes it feels like a maze just to buy something. Do they not want money?

  8. Of course I manage to screw up the last important decal on the plane.

  9. Why must Humbrol enamel take hours to dry? Testors are dry in minutes. It really puts a damper on progress when a tiny touchup takes hours to dry.

      Just use Vallejo

    3. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Testors are easy to find, and rarely give me issues. Though I have had issues with "matt" blacks being satin.

Vallejo would be interesting to try.

I agree with Captain, tis the only way really

  10. Back at school and I already have plenty of time for modeling. Too bad I spend it all playing video games.

  11. Managed to cut my fingers while cleaning a deli slicer today. At least it was off at the time.

Ooh, shades of the 'Bacon slicer' Safety film shown before the old Walport films on board ship...(some of this parish will remember them well...)

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Once again Im reminded to ensure my RMweb posts are grammatically clear. My fingers are still attached...though theyd probably be safer in a sausage than on my hand.

  12. Trying to actually get some modeling done. Just dont feel the desire...

  13. Well, finals are done once again. Now to wait for results...

      finals? once again?

  14. Havent been very active here in a few weeks. Been very busy with school and Fallout:New Vegas. Though some work has been done on trains.

    1. 69843

      69843

      Ah, education.....

Not really into those sorts of games.

  15. Been doing a ton of work on an Airfix Spitfire. Need to get back to my trains.

  16. I hate my math class. I miss when it was actually straight forward and didnt add random things every step to "get" the answer.

  17. Decals for a plane. Ughhh.

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

What? No applying them. Layering decals, getting them to sit flat over stupidly large bumps.

  18. Planning a 2 foot long shunting layout. Yes..very restricting.

Doing it in Gauge 1 would make it even more minimalist...

Noo. Im going for OO and discovered through scarm last night that if I want turnouts, I need to use Peco short Ys. Managed a minimal inglenook with two of them. Though...Id like to complicate that with a couple wagon turntables.

  19. Classes have taken so much out of me I dont even have the energy to build anything.

    1. 69843

      69843

      Ah, I hate that feeling.

Nothing worse than planning out an evening of work, then after 'education' being too knackered to do anything

    2. GWR88

      GWR88

Yup. Whole week off planned and wham! GCSE revision homework everywhere!

  20. Even a broken iron wont stop my progress. Soldering with a butane lighter is interesting.

Apparently it takes a long time to upload a 1 minute video...yes I actually recorded something.

Yes Im very out of frame, and my voice is terrible. But a demonstration nonetheless.

  21. Managed to melt the tip of my soldering iron.

      using a blow-torch for heating?

    3. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Just decided to overhear and melt it. I keep the tip in good shape, keeping it coated and avoiding corrosion.

  22. Two David Geen kits on my workbench, a scratchbuilt wagon in production, and a brake van awaiting steps, and Im spending my time making armor for a Nerf war.

    1. 69843

      69843

      1, 2, 3, 4, I declare a Nerf war....

  23. So either the engineers drawings of this wagon are off, or the wheelbase is a foot off-center...yay working off drawings.

Be careful of plans in magazines. I'd built ten wagons before I realized they didn't have two bl--dy great staples in the middle of the bodies

    3. Horsetan

      Horsetan

I've been trying to reduce a drawing to 4mm scale. Not as easy as it looks!

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Its fixed now, but I did have to rip the springs off 3 times.

  24. Circuits in physics, all I can think is "Resistance is useless"-Vogon grunt.
