      Huw Griffiths

      Express delivery, is it?

  2. Has had a run in with a squirrel who decided the open door to my house was a perfect place to run. Terrified thing made a hell of a leap once it got back outside.

    2. LNERGE

      LNERGE

Good god i can only imagine that happening here. Our cat catches the damn things and delivers them to Mrs LNERGE's lap. Having one to chase round the house would make his day.

    3. sharris

      sharris

Can we borrow your cat? The local ones round here take no notice of the squirrels digging up our garden.

    4. Tim Dubya

      Tim Dubya

      Top Cat! (pun intended).

I've rescued many a cat from thinking they can have a squirrel - the squirrel has bigger claws than you pussysweetkins!

  3. I feel like a fibreglass pincushion.

    2. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

No, more like the messenger shooting itself.

      Porcy Mane

See the message surrounded by pink at the top of the page????

      See here:

Don't use the pound sign though. You'll trigger World War III.

    3. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Porcy, I understand the pound sign issue. And I have seen the notification at the top of the page. The error I noticed, and commented on has not been listed as far as I am aware. Though it appears to have now fixed itself.

  7. And the mail service destroyed my package.

      Spitfire2865

Yep. I ordered plasticcard from the UK, every single sheet damaged. The packaging looked to have been run over by a lorry multiple times.

  8. Again, fibreglass in my fingers. I havent even used the brush in days.

    1. Huw Griffiths

      Huw Griffiths

Now you know why I haven't used a fibreglass brush for years.

  9. Building a layout is making me hate building a layout.

  10. Fibreglass brush and fingers dont play well.

    1. DougN

      DougN

Neoprene gloves work! Local motor factors have packs of 100!

  11. Really Peco, announce Bullhead track RIGHT after I start my layout. At least all my track will be inset...

  12. Now I need to build 3 4mm wagon turntables from scratch.

    3. Talltim

      Talltim

I can let you have some turntables if you like. gratis+postage

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Stubby, I know that, being a fan of Lego all my life, I just dont see it worthwhile ordering just two Lego turntables. Im rather cheap.

And Talltim, thanks for the offer, but I have an idea already for the turntables. All it needs is a screw pivot. And a means to turn it without the hand of god.

  13. Is playing the waiting game with the mail.

    3. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

Is the mail also playing a waiting game with you?

  14. Tying down loads to 4mm wagons makes me wish I started in 7mm.

    1. Boris

      Boris

It's just as bad in 7mm mate, trust me, you just get more pocket pain in the bigger scale.

    2. Huw Griffiths

      Huw Griffiths

... and more people can spot if you don't get things quite right.

  15. There is an art to flying, or rather a knack. Its knack lies in learning to throw yourself at the ground and miss

you don't walk away from a bad landing..

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

A good landing is one you can walk away from. A great landing is one you can reuse the plane afterwards.

  16. My hate for the USPS grows stronger every day...

      Spitfire2865

  20. Had no issue with Fox decals on two locos, now I cant get them to stay on.

  21. Buys Ratio kits online. Next day Ehattons has some for cheaper. Well, now I have two on the way.

I ordered the coal traffic kit, then ehattons had it for a cheap price with only a damaged box.

    3. LNWR lives on

      LNWR lives on

Sounds good :) Dependant on the age might come with plastic wheels which id advise binning and get some metal ones and metal bearings in there, runs so much better that way

    4. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

I know the one from hattons has gibsons as it was in the photo. Id assume PetersSpares would keep more new stock than old, so hoping for metal, but either way I have a small stockpile of wheels. Though I did just get rocking w iron etches, so im torn between using them on the Ratio kits, or using them to scratchbuild more random stuff. Any good Diagrams you recommend?

  22. Anyone know LNWR cab interior colors?

    1. Sir Hadyn

      Spitfire2865

Thank you. Id assume the LMS wouldnt have bothered changing that.

  23. If it wasnt for the lining, Id consider modeling pregrouping.

I know what you mean about lining.

Saying that, I still like the LNWR coach livery.

    4. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

I'd pay someone else to do it for me.

  24. Ive won the "First Injury of the Year" award in my machining class with a cut finger due to someone else's mistake.

    1. Bon Accord

      Bon Accord

Still some way to go, as someone once said to me: you're not a proper engineer until you've part of at least one finger missing!

      Londontram

Same when I was in the motor trade there wasn't a mechanic in our garage who had a full set

    1. Captain Kernow

      Captain Kernow

Don't worry, there'll be three buses along all at once in a few minutes.

    2. Spitfire2865

      Spitfire2865

Unless the bus contains kit etches and Markits wheels, I doubt thatll help.
