  1. I'm hoping that somebody will post at least one night-time shot.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
  2. I don't think I've ever made so many cups of coffee in one day! There are many more sheds in the vale scene:
  3. These were the subject of conversations during a photographic workshop at Pendon Museum just this very day!
  4. Nicely done, as always, Martin. The concrete has just the right hint of green to it.
  5. The last time I was in hospital I was on a bed in the corridor!
  6. I've bought the book and I've downloaded the entry form. Can anybody tell me whether I have to buy MRJ 254 as well? I can find no mention of the requirement anywhere, but I just want to make sure I don't antagonise anybody unnecessarily.
  7. Those American diesel thingies looked pretty good, too!
  8. I like to keep some things to myself. I'm not an exhibitionist.
  9. Nicely done, Martin. What load does/did this vehicle carry?
  10. I'm sure Martin won't mind me mentioning that white will be too stark. The flesh colour (slightly pink) works much better on BR blue.
  11. Not so busy that we couldn't spare a moment to talk. You never know, you may even have got sensible answer! :-)
  12. Splendid detail work, Martin, especially on the tank.
  13. As far as I can recall this one took 3 days start to finish. A lot of the time was spent waiting for things to dry before proceeding. https://www.flickr.com/photos/laughinglobster/8567413663/in/dateposted/
  14. It's not that tiny, really, Martin, and there's still plenty of scope for subtlety. When you consider how popular 3.5mm HO/P87 and 4mm OO/EM/P4 are in the railway modelling world there must be many people watching your work who would welcome the appearance of some more 'tiny' stuff!
  15. Not if it's one of these: https://airbrushes.com/product_info.php?cPath=400_403_1_9_47&products_id=21 It is a bit beyond the budget, though.
  16. Martin, It's difficult to say without seeing the photograph you're working from, but I think that the fading is a bit overdone, which is why the darkened beams don't look quite right. Nonetheless, you may be able to put it right with the washes and powders during the next stage. Still looks good, though!
  17. Martin, what method do you use to apply the Panpastels? I have a few but have not yet opened them, being unsure about the application method. Do you use a brush, a sponge or fingers?
  18. Those 4 colours will give you all the rust representations you'll ever need, no matter what the medium.
  19. Even more interesting! Experimenting is good. I'd never thought of cocoa powder and I can see what you mean about its suitability.
  20. An interesting selection of opinions. I wonder if the original poster (JohnH) made a decision.
  21. That'll be CV56 - "Dynamic Drive Control: Up and Down the Hill". It's going to be quite steep, isn't it?
