Oh dear that's going to cause all sorts of other compounded errors I'd also be concerned about the proportions of the headcode box, the tops of the windscreens are straight on the model , rather than having a gentle curve to follow the rainstrip, and the tail lights don't really look that well observed. It may be the lighting , but the head on shot makes the whole cab look rather narrow. In the cropped image of the model from Miss prisms post above the negative rake of the lower cab front appears really extreme. Ok, so this is a RTR class 47 on O gauge, where there is at present no other available , but In 2019/2020 , for a £600ish model , of such an iconic loco , is this really good enough?
Regards
Jon
Would agree 're the head on image, the real cab is wider at the cab doors /cab side windows , looking square onto the front-end the cab side window framing is visable...
Dosn't bode well for the new 00 version..... "a slim jim instead of a tubby duff" ?

'Nods enthusiastically'But as a general release model not as a special edition (had enough of Bachmann doing that)
Seasons Greetings John/all
General release or Special edition whatever...97301 is the same RRP as general releases and if that's how Accurascale intend to market them .....then bring em on.....although production quantity may well be reduced on specials.
Bachmann's so called Rep 's edition specials and L/Edition's were hiked in price unnecessarily, production costs would have been the same for both specials & general releases......their annual pricing review in Feb 2020 should prove interesting...!

Rather than stumble about in the dark ! heed the advice offered by Richard Croft and at least try wiring the sugar cube + EM1 in parallel or
for a better result use one of your EM2's on it's own...job done..

25 June 88 - Bad news for some regular viewers; we're not headed back to Waverley just yet. Still stopped opposite Inverness TMD while 47461 is removed. Allows for some further shots:
47492 in Intercity Scotrail livery. Love those doors.
A better angle on 37046 (IS) reveals 37416 (IS) behind.
L to R: 47481 (CD), just washed and fuelled, 47518 (IS). We're about to resume our journey.
37261 (IS) now at the front as we head through Dingwall, near the Drouthy Duck pub which I distinctly remember seeing from the train. I finally made it in there about twenty years later.
37261 by Loch Garve, 1310.
37415 (IS) at Garve headed for Inverness. 1315. We saw it at Muir of Ord five hours later heading a service away from Inverness as we returned. Still barely a splattered midge on it.
Avalanche shelter for rocks I believe, not snow. Odd that rocks would need to shelter though.
37260 at Kyle Of Lochalsh, 1530. For all you coachfans my notes record it as being at the head of "Mk2Ds for Glasgow". Skye behind. And sky behind that.
37414 (IS) about to take to the front of our train to return us to Inverness. Something makes me think that would not have been the coach we were in...
The end of the line. Hopefully not for the daredevil wallwalker.
No photos from the return journey, but 47460 (IS) pulled us home from Inverness to Edinburgh which means we:
- were hauled by 47460 and 47461 and saw 47462 at IS as we passed at 1835 (no photo);
- were hauled by 37261 and saw 37260; and
- were hauled by 37414 and saw 37415, 37416 and 37417 (the last not photographed, but seen at Muir of Ord at 1235 with "the Highland Prince" headed for Inverness).
So those are my grouping period photos...
Super nostalgic photos.........the Drouthy Duck is actually in Conon Bridge.... close to Dingwall.....

Interesting article. I did wonder about converting the new Bachmann 24 to a 25/0, possibly 5163 as seen on Derby Sulzers.
What the article referred to above does not pick up on is that the boiler vent and exhaust on the roof need to go, as 25/0s were not boiler fitted.
Appears said article post has been removed/deleted ? shame as it was some impressive modelling..............

I noticed this too. All the photos I can find show the gauge so it looks like a mistake. I wonder if SLW will offer the part at some point as it isn’t something that can be easily added.
24 081 has the gauges, rather odd they are missing on 24 009 ? perhaps alternative tanks were tooled up and the factory just used the wrong ones by mistake ?
Regardless I'm confident SLW will sort it out....

The beauty of the class 37 is the huge oppurtunity for variation and it's longevity, something for nearly everyone and every region . Real earner for the company for many years to come , really looking forward to some Scots '80's versions and 001 can be renumbered to several suitable locos with just the addition of headcode blanks and a scotty dog . Now I'm off to look at 37039 and find my credit card!
37 001 is not really suitable to change to 039 or many other later 37/0's apart from it having original style glass headcode box panels it also had removable cant rail grille panels, which AFAIK were only fitted to 37001/2/3/4 ? along with the extra RSH build cantrail grille support strips.
No doubt a more suitable version 37/0 to change, will be produced in the future.....

Warning panel yellow is a good example. It varies massively. It didn't suddenly change in 1984 as Railmatch's range seems to infer.
Signal Yellow was the original shade used, but it was found to fade/weather quite badly, around 1985 Warning Panel Yellow was introduced which had a warmer very slightly orange hue to replace it. A number of other shades of Yellow were also used later on when privatization commenced.

Which is no bad thing at all in my view.I’m perfectly aware of their shortcomings, but the Bachmann 47 and 37 are still fantastic models in my view. I have many of both and don’t intend to stop there. I think they’re detailed enough to hold their own and not look out of place alongside a ‘next gen’ model of either type.
The only major draw towards an Accurascale 37 for me might be the provision for sound without milling the chassis, but I dare say I’ll happily run both.
Going by the pre-pro views of the Accurascale 37...chalk and cheese comes to mind....but time will tell....

Good to see these finally on the way. The plain green one might even be in the shops for Christmas.
They were originally announced March 8, 2013 at £85.95, now £149.95 (Bachmann's MRP).
I guess many will have been tempted by the SLW model in the meantime, I know I have...
Depends if you want an English or Scottish version....I'll wait for the latter....

Thanks for confirming, with their absolute attention to detail, very unlikely SLW would have missed them. Not quite, photo of the No 2 end of the model further up, clearly show the extra brackets fitted above the tail lights as on the prototype photo are indeed missing............

Wow really looks impressive. As previously mentioned above, it's rather odd that the brackets above the tail lights have been missed, unless of course they are present on the No 2 end ? Photos of 24 009 are quite difficult to find, maybe it only had the extra brackets at one end ?

I’m wondering if we can expect another wave of interesting Ltd editions in the wake of Heljan and Accurascale announcing a new 47 and 37 respectively....
Possibly some Rep 47's next ?...............it also likely in view of recent announcements that the RRP of the 37's may be reduced a la 66's...............

Realised today the key to the one I bought a few years was missing from its normal hiding place - a rummage through the spare keys has failed to find any that fit. There are two which I am 99% certain are the spares so before I attack the lock with WD40 can someone confirm what the key looks like. The ones I am certain are the right ones are 47mm long with a round end and the keyed section 24mm long and there are no markings on them.

Hi,
I just double checked mine and yes it does have the frost grills in the usual detail pack. The etched plates are also very well done too.
It was only after looking through Flickr I spotted the frost grills in place in the early 90’s so adds further variety for me as it will be the only 37 in the fleet with them. Like Ken I only noticed the handrail detail after looking back at the real thing once I had my model.
When this one got announced I was quite happy as it fits in my early 90’s era project so ordered one and really pleased with it. I think Bachmann have done a really good job on it, Printing and livery is very sharp and they have matched prototype details particularly well.
Thanks
Mark
Hi Mark
If you plan to fit rad frost grilles, worth considering Brian's excellent EE versions, much nearer to scale than the supplied ones, as the photo shows.
Regards
Ken
Edit: Re the Frost Grills supplied with 37 275 Stainless Pioneer - Bachmann appear to have revised the etches, the supplied grills are now much finer than earlier ones (see photo) and very similar to Shawplan EE versions. so much so I first thought he may have supplied them, but on closer inspection it appears not, as they are missing the small bolt head fixings near the diagonal bars. A nice touch being Bachmann have painted the grille surround edges in 2 tone grey so it matches the model perfectly, this will also help to line it up if used, nice one Bachmann.......

Be good to see the blue/grey and inter-city executive Mk2f coaches rerun with fresh numbers (with a price freeze?) but fully expect to see RRPs rise to at least £82,95 a pop.
>> Easy enough to change the No's on existing examples and avoid any future price increases if re-run....
also hope to see the blue grey BSO corrected in a fresh batch with the Inter-City lettering placed in the right place on the one side at the passenger end......
>> Ditto above.....
Maybe they will finish the blue grey Mk1 inter-city sleeper family with a Composite SLC on commonwealth bogies.
>> Agree that's really a no-brainer but will it happen ?

With the exception of the DBSOs weren't the coaches Mk2e type rather than Mk2f? Wouldn't bother me, but it may (or may not) be a factor.
The OP I think is referring to the earlier MK2z coaches in ScotRail livery announced by Bachmann some time back. A few of these MK2z coaches ran with DBSO's although the majority were MK2D & E along with one MK2F FO
