  1. These passengers look very good, their detail is better than most, are they Bachmann seated ones ? or.........
  2. IS Depot's 37 033 fresh off the WB - DCC Fitted/working spot lights - up for sale if anyone is interested..........SOLD
  3. Deluxe Materials "Strip Magic" would probably work well in this instance, see here for tips on using.... (virtually impossible to tell what type of paint has been used from just looking at it) HTH
  4. Neat soldering - but unusual to solder one of the wires to the inside/running edge of the rails ? unless of course access to the far side of the rail was limited/awkward ?
  5. Too many rock and heavy metal concerts over the years hasn't helped ! couldn't hear right for almost a week after a recent one..lol. ... Anyway I don't think the EM2 suits the engine character of a 47 that well it needs a bit more top end thrash/clatter/turbo spool down whine..etc.... Cheers Ken
  6. Hi Albie/all To be honest, I found the EM2/ Mid Norfolk 47 combination rather disappointing, and lacking in the "top end". It was also a lot of work to get the EM2 fitted, the 47 body being shallower than a 37. For me the end results were not worth all the effort to get it fitted. More details on my WB thread - The Northern Lights. I'm considering an EM1 + Sugar Cube or a Twin Zimo Dumbo for my next attempt, either option should be far easier to fit. That's a good idea re using a decoder tester to sample different speakers before committing..... Regards Ken
  7. Hi Albie The Bachmann 47 has dual common return wires, 1 for the tails, and 1 for the markers/headlight - not figured out why yet, hence 4 instead of 3 wires. I just joined the Blue and Green + common wires together and it all worked fine using the 51968 board. HTH Ken
  8. Hi Lippy

I've just noticed your response.  What condition/price are you looking for ? I'll need to check if I already have enough for the planned project.

  9. If anyone is looking for one ? , I still have one of these Micromark Chisels available. contact via PM Now SOLD
  10. Hi Doug C6 a surface mount (SMD) capacitor - unsure how you could find out it's value ? R6 - a surface mount (SMD) resistor 1.5Kohm - (152) - same as the others on the circuit board The New White LED's would appear to be fitted in the 2 holes directly below D and the Blue wire to the terminal left of the Green Wire. The Bachmann 47 unusually has dual common return wires, normally there are only 3 wires on other models - 2 feeds 1 common return. Being so small, these SMD components are not normally sold individually, but available on eBay in multi-strips HTH Ken
  11. Try T-cut with cotton buds, probably easier to remove the glazing first.
  12. Also noticed that on some of these new 37's , the pipes from the bogie brake cylinders are not glued to the top edges of the frames, resulting in the pipes getting snagged/broken/missing. Another issue is with the pick-up wires from the bogies, unlike earlier models, the wires are now no longer fixed/hot melted into the strain relief fitting recesses on the lower sides of the bogie tower. These production steps appear to have been missed at the factory, all very well constantly increasing prices, but QC needs to be improved also. Top photo shows - ex factory Lower photo - shows where the wires "used" to be secured/anchored into the recess.
  13. Bogie swing issues on newer Bachmann 37's - 37 142/37 032 and possibly others ? Small plastic blocks have been added to the inside front edges of the chassis block - these restrict the swing of the bogie/worm cover plate. They are NOT present on earlier versions, why they have been added is a bit of a mystery ? The poor photo shows them at the tip of the screwdriver - very difficult to hold the camera, a light and take photo, all at the same time ! Removing the bogie frames gives easier access to the front nose end screws. HTH
  14. Couple of options that may prove suitable: https://www.trainshop.co.uk/electrics-oo-/9400-modern-image-tail-lamp-flashing-5060325130818.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuc-50PyG4gIV75ztCh0ONw_cEAQYAiABEgI6VfD_BwE or make up your own circuit, some good ideas here: http://s374444733.websitehome.co.uk/cl-rearlite/index.htm HTH
  15. Hi All Looking for some info on the fitment of White front lamps on ScR Black 5's that ran on the West Highland line. Number of lamps used and positioning etc TIA
  16. I have one of these Micromark handrail removal tools I no longer use as most modern models already have wire handrails. If interested send PM
  17. Any ESU decoder function key allocation can be viewed/changed using the Lokprogrammer function mapping tab. HTH
  18. Also worth considering ESU no longer support warranty claims on V3.5 decoders, better option to sell on and replace with V4 or V5's
  19. The consensus of opinion discussed some time back, was to "avoid" anything from Olivia's - poor sound files,over-priced models etc etc - for sound files Biffo / SWD or Howes every time.........
  20. Perhaps the best WH livery of them all ? Fresh of the WB - a commission job. Will grudge parting with it..............
  21. Despite my comments above 're Humbrol enamel varnish - opened a tin of Satin varnish that was purchased recently, after mixing it with a paint mixer it was nothing like the older tin, it looked more like gooey light Grey paint....so returned it for a refund along with the other tin. The original tin was branded Humbrol Super Enamel, and looked like varnish and worked well unlike the presently available version .......
  22. Perhaps the issue with the original SLW rad grills may ? be that the "vertical bars" are on the outside face of the grille. whereas on the prototype these vertical bars appear to be on the "inside" face making them less prominent ? It will be interesting to compare the revised rad grills on the forthcoming SLW models.
  23. The forthcoming SLW models will have improved radiator grilles, glazing and clips on the bogies to help align the piping.
  24. I've used Humbrol Enamel Varnishes and colours for years, very seldom had any issues. Their Matt Varnish needs to be well mixed, preferably with a battery powered mixer, and then preferably thinned with quality White spirits, not thinners.
