  1. Re changing the speed steps - being a Lenz user. I'm not that familiar with NCE hand sets, although it appears to have a 28/128 button on the bottom row, second in from the right ?
  2. That's of interest, as I also prefer to use rub-on transfers, Replica Railways ones were always my go-to, but most of theirs nowadays are waterslide...............
  3. Yes strange indeed ! - but I don't think anyone will actually expect to get them for £25 - £29 each once they actually arrive................more like £45+ each .......especially if lighting is fitted....
  4. Hi Peter Yes DCC is fine when it all works as intended, but very frustrating as you've found when it plays up........... I've never had much success either consisting locos - 20/26/27's etc. I've found that double heading - giving both locos the same address works better, at least for me . I'd suggest resetting both decoders to standard, then give both locos the same address. Make sure they are both set to the same SS = 128 Also check CV's 3 4 5 and 6 have the same values on BOTH locos.Place them both on the track a few inches apart, and drive them and observe if the gap is maintained or not going forwards and backwards. If one loco moves before the other, either reduce CV2 on the quicker one or increase CV2 on the slower one, by 1 at a time, until they will both start off at the same time, and maintain the gap between them when when moving. CV's 3 4 5 & 6 can then be adjusted to suit if required. Worth remembering that using the Inertia momentum button on the NCE alters the values in CV's 3 & 4 Have a cold one ! .......and have another go at it.............. Regards Ken
  5. According to their site, it's been nearly 15 years since it's last outing ! wow how time flies ! the SECC may have been it's last outing, but well worth going to Perth to see it if nothing else...................
  6. Well said that man .............................
  7. Try Howes Models - they may have spare glazing sprues for a 33 .................... https://www.howesmodels.co.uk/
  8. Excellent - thanks for the link and info.... Regards Ken
  9. Alan According to the Zimo site, the latest firmware(15/11/16) for the MX622 is V36.5.... and when downloaded it comes up as DS16115(1).zip does the (1) perhaps make the difference ? Ask Paul - I'm sure he will be able to help you with this.......... It should not be necessary to remove the hard wired decoder/s - I've updated the Zimo firmware on hard wired locos with no problems.........on a piece of track connected to the MXULFA - but they are all sound versions. I don't have any non-sound Zimos... Regards Ken
  10. Question for all you knowledgeable 40 fans.......... Changing a D211 to D200 - full yellow nose ends and a renumber - anything else I've perhaps missed.................. TIA
  11. Yes indeed, that "gouge" looks like still being present, although the question is, why ? , Model Rail's L/E 37 068 "Grainflow" was produced correctly WITHOUT said gouge, so it's not as if the tooling option is not available.......... Once again it makes the "pre-order" saga a joke, not only do we not get a "realistic" price to work with, but the actual model that's going to be released shortly, is in this case different to what was originally advertised.............
  12. Your spot on, as the photo at Nov 85 (named 4/11/85) shows nameplates and yellow boxes, by Feb 86 the boxes were black https://www.flickr.com/photos/roddymacphee/16936916881/in/photolist-rNE8ji-kJxibF-pRviAf-avStFg-dDqG9q-vFuihH-dy9WBz-haFXH8-aActJd-dVLYyk-i1ZPiT-e7NUNU-dVLZ8M-ebPUYw-6nStyd-q9ZrXG-9xQetu-avSs6k-bERFDk-bGWpYH-buvWTh-nwMw25-pMsJXF-mbgNnK-9xMi2n-wdgsYP-mh61LB-bZ7KTJ-buvUjL-ceFbrJ-eSc2Qx-dc1Yiv-avV9Qd-avSw6D-vYdWL2-9bRMk1-9xMdBa-iG5Y4q-7hHsFP-9DNj5P-izjHmv-bt6FJ5-9RTmDV-rZTj4H-JN7DJi-a45Zhr-ddrEmJ-CzdjXu-dGthNx-bVd8x3
  13. What about a northern one ? Inverness > Wick / Thurso / Kyle / Aberdeen / Glasgow / Edinburgh.................. and Glasgow > Fort Bill...........etc Plenty there to choose from lol Regards Ken
  14. If the forthcoming Bachmann L/L 37 401 is supposed to represent the loco when it first arrived at ED ex works in 1985, the headcode boxes were indeed yellow, but painted Black soon afterwards, along with a number of other 37'4's The question is - was it named before or after the the headcode boxes were painted black, or perhaps the boxes were painted black prior to the naming ceremony. The first/original L/L numbers on the ED 37/4's were smaller than standard and also hand painted...................
  15. Yes that's makes sense, being a left over from the Class 33 debacle perhaps............. and some 33's have headlights...........and Sulzer PU's ............ so perhaps the definitive model of a Class 33 is still on the cards............
  16. Em unless it's a typo ? the standard Bachmann factory sound 37 has a 20 x 40 speaker (poorly) fitted not a 28 x 40........... Good though a tank fitted ABC 28 x 40 is in a 37, another option is the ABC 229 Bass Reflex (58 x 15 x 23) requires a lot of work to get it to fit, but the results are well worth the effort.......... Drive Lock is a very worthwhile addition, we now just need that active brake control to finish it all off............
  17. As consumers, that purchase the end products, if the manufacturers want to base their production quantities and profit margins on so called pre-orders, then at least they should be able to indicate a realistic price to produce the item in the first place, otherwise any pre-order figures based on "fantasy" prices are totally meaningless. Would you pre-order a new car at a "fantasy" price and still take delivery on being told the price had in fact doubled once it was delivered ! I very much doubt it............................. It's also interesting to compare the prices of re-issued/re-liveried TTA / PCA / MEA wagons etc, the associated design and tooling costs having been recouped long ago, yet some of these wagons have more than doubled in price !
  18. Your are just such a tease.........................lol
  19. Only one in ScotRail livery - 47 710 Sir Walter Scott - they also did a couple of 47/7's in NSE livery I think............?
  20. "Headcode" display on a DBSO ? - em think you need to look again at a few photos of a real one .......................
  21. 24 081 and 24 063 are virtually identical, apart from the white painted details, and the different sandboxes ?...below taken from the SLW site Our PURCHASE page has been updated to reflect the latest stock situation. Cat No. 2402 - No. 24081 in BR Blue with embellishments is now out of stock. We remind you that Cat No. 2404 (24 063) is almost identical apart from the running number and the white-painted fittings.
  22. Deltic - Ha Ha - no chance of that - loads of "Sulzer" options to produce yet....................... Headcode box 24 is coming...............soon hopefully........... Hence the Facebook page teaser and also consider why have headlight circuits already built in to the generic 24/25 circuit boards - 25's don't have headlights !
  23. Yes I'd agree, but £63.71 each ! (with lighting) and not avail till April/May 2018 - the price will more that likely go up again by then........................
  24. It would appear that the long announced Bachmann 24/1 is "still" in the drawing office, question is will it progress any further, or are they just delaying it, awaiting confirmation that SLW already have them on a "boat" ..............
  25. Hattons' just confirmed the Mk2 DBSO is going to cost £63.71 ! for that price lets hope it has more than just basic lighting ? Delivery not due till April/May 2018 along the the MK2F's............ almost 5 years then from announcement to delivery.....................
