  1. Ordered my sound fitted one earlier going by your first photo, I'm still undecided about that cab front glazing ?, perhaps it's just not pushed fully home, it's almost like SE glazing, regardless it's a huge step forward forward for D&E, and it's likely EE Brian may well be considering some laser glaze replacements. It's also worth noting that the wiring diagram schematic shows some interesting function outputs: No1 end F0f Markers F01 Tail lights F03 Headcode ? F05 Headlight ? F07 Cab & engine room As 24/0s don't have headcode (boxes) or headlights ? perhaps it's generic and can be used for future models also, possibly a 24/1 and 25's etc - just an assumption
  2. Only if your a previous RE customer ATM, available to anyone after 14th December
  3. Hopefully, next up will be the 24/1, including some of the ScR versions, with working car type headlights ?
  4. Anyone confirm if the Zimo "Coupling Waltz" feature is one of the 28 function keys on the new Class 24 ?
  5. Judging by the number of adverse comments on the new 24's glazing - I'd suspect EE Brian already has plans for some nice laser glaze replacements !
  6. Bachmann Class 24 and some 40's have working headcode disc lamps as supplied. They can also be fitted to Bachmann Disc Class 20's using a lighting kit or custom made from components. The lamps would normally be on day and night together with open or closed discs in a set pattern to designate the train type Locos with headcode discs don't have separate marker lamps
  7. As already suggested, send the photo + details to Hatton's and let them take it up with Yodel
  8. Heljan's 3T R/F Sec Grey livery 60 has better shades of Grey that the recently released Hornby 60 005 R/F Skiddaw, in particular the difference between the roof and upper body band of Flint Grey. Cracking looking models, and once again more temptation to go 0 gauge...........................................
  9. I never had much luck using Humbrol Satin/Gloss cote either. However I've used a lot Humbrol enamel varnishes with great success, using white spirit as a thinner. It goes on well and dries fairly quickly leaving a nice smooth coating, Depending on the amount of finished sheen required, they can be mixed together to give the required result. Never spray varnish in cold humid or damp conditions, the results can vary from "blooming" to a frosted white look to the finish, which is near impossible to remove without stripping and starting over again !
  10. I've also used Humrol emamels for many years with good results. In fact I still have some of the original Humbrol Authentic tins from years back, most of these are still useable, once the pigment that's settled at the bottom has been well mixed in. One colour I have found can be "batch" related is 82 Matt Orange - some of these are "a tin of sludge" no amount of stirring etc makes any difference - it just remains sludge ! I've never had a problem with non-drying, perhaps the more modern production batches have insufficient "Dryers" added to the mix.
  11. Quite different - the latest TGS is also flushed glazed, which is fairly dark in tint, so will look odd with original Lima coaches especially if they still have standard clear glazing/window ledges !
  12. CDL fittings on Mk3 HST coaches. Where these retro fitted to coaches while still in Exec InterCity125 livery or just Swallow versions ? Yes.............. Hornby even has them (incorrectly) on some versions of their Blue/Grey MK3's - strange as some being ex Lima coaches that never had them ?
  13. CP Three mile long freight trains, that require a mile to stop !!! and passenger trains having to wait in loops for them to pass ! The spiral loops through the tunnels at "kicking horse pass" were most impressive, some feat of engineering.
  14. A mare for sure - the "white lining" will be an even bigger one ! good luck with that...................
  15. I used a voucher i've had for well over a year so don't think they are time limited but perhaps confirm with Hornby
  16. If the website won't accept the voucher code just phone the customer care line and they will take your order and deduct the voucher value All Hornby item orders are POST FREE over £30 value !! Not using a £100 voucher seems a real shame buy anything that's popular over £100 and sell it on ! Simples !!
  17. My info came from one of the staff who actually worked on the loco during it's repaint. Perhaps the original plan was to use "altered" 47 sized vinyl arrows, but it may have been decided later to just paint them on (badly) ? One photo shows the loco in the paint shop, you can almost still smell the paint ! It would have been very easy at the time to check if the arrows were paint or vinyl.....................
  18. Top quality work as always from Steve at Rail-tec When 37 025 was painted L/L and named Inverness TMD at IS it carried odd sized arrows believed to be Class 47 size alterted to suit and these were the only size available at the time and the loco was required back in traffic. It also featured curved leg 7's in the L/L no's Over the years the arrows and numbers have been changed/replaced etc Regards Ken
  19. Try Precision Labels for a custom made set of No's /Stag's / data panels/ etc www.precisionlabels.com another option is Railtec www.railtec-models.com Nameplates: Shawplan or Fox Snowploughs - spares from a Heljan 47 Oval buffers - spares from a Hornby Class 50 37 057 has original nose end doors which will require altered as 37 025 has flushed nose panels HTH Ken
  20. Aye the "stay alive" is probably masking any poor pick-up problems, how well does it run if you disconnect it.......................
  21. Bif After playing around with this again, I've found that the results differ depending on if the operating K key is set "latched" or momentary - as Bigal10 was informed by Brian/Howes. Using your WH 37/4 as an example: If the F key is set "latched" - the loco moves back/forward then ramps up and back down to idle However if the Key is set "momentary" as per Brian's work around to Bigal10 - a couple of quick taps and then hold the key down, the loco moves back then forward and stops with no ramp up of sound. One has to experiment on just how long the key is held down to get the required result, too long and it ramps up after stopping. Ken
  22. It's worth considering that "every" example of D211 was cleaned of the problem grease and tested by Bachmann BEFORE any were released for sale. As you and others have found out, this works in the short term, but the problem appears to come back with use. Question is: after being cleaned now for a second time, how long will it run properly before the problem comes back again ?
  23. Are you sure they are all V4 fitted ? As mentioned above, thus feature is NOT available on the earlier V3 / V3.5 Loksounds.
  24. Alan Good job working out the CV's to use this on F16. So far I've only added this feature to one of Bif's WH 37/4's and it suffers with exactly the same issue, the locos moves back and then forward and stops, THEN it ramps up and back down again to idle !! Not ideal. I suspect it's to do with how the sound file is set up to start with. Got any comments on this little aspect Bif ? Using this feature on the SWD U-DRIVE 47, it behaves more as you'd expect, it ramps up a little, brakes blow off then it moves back / forward and then drops back to idle. Regards Ken
  25. All the info necessary is in the above posts, including a "step by step" in post #1 which adds this feature to Key F15 If you wish to add it to a different F Key - different CV's will have to be used, post # 9 details the changes to add it to Key F18 as an example.
