  1. I assume that this local station wont be an exhibition layout ? All the best Ray
  2. Got my subscription copy the week before last which was correct. The publication date was 31st August. Next issue due 28th September. The publication is every four weeks and there were five Thursdays in August, so two issues that month. All the best Ray
  3. Hi Roythebus. I think that Comet are still trading. Branchlines are still trading, but have not had a website since the current owner took over. Look for their advert in the magazines and give them a call. They do all the valve gear rivets etc. If Kemilway/Peter K did do a chassis, I believe that they are in the throws of winding up the business. I think that the owner has retired and the website may have been taken down now. I hope that this helps. All the best Ray
  4. I still have a few of the new ones recorded waiting to be watched, as they went out on a Tuesday night which is our club night.
  5. Looking good. Have you been test running ? I only ask that as I note that you have a number of three way points in the fiddle yard and some locos get a bit tetchy on the curved roads out of them. All the best Ray
  6. Who does the 3D printed Daleks ? Could do with a K9 and some Cybermen as well. Thanks Ray
  7. Another month goes by and still no sign or mention of these buses. Still shown as Summer 2023 release on their website. When does their Summer run out ?
  8. Hi Chatham MRC. Sent you a PM from Southwark and Dist. MRC for our possible exhibit. All the best Ray
  9. Hi Tim. Sent you a PM with information you might be interested in. All the best Ray
  10. Hi Coline. Very interesting. More photos would be useful. Keep up the good work. All the best Ray
  11. I remember seeing an article about the visit of this locomotive from the South London Press (I think), in the Southwark Local Archives. All the best Ray
  12. Pleased to hear that he is keeping well. Ray
  13. Many thanks for the information. At least the Chatham club seem to be on the up and bringing back their show at the Dockyard next year. All the best Ray
  14. Does anyone know if the former Epsom and Ewell and/or Woking (REC) exhibitions will return next year ? Many thanks Ray
  15. The window into roof shape looks reasonable now and I think that the cab windows are about right as well. The lighting is not good, but I do not think that the shade of green is too far off. Some more pictures would be helpful. Hope that they can get this out for the end of the year. It will make a very nice Christmas present. Keep up the good work KR.
  16. Thanks for the pictures. They confirm that the colour of the new one is different to the original WD one and more khaki than green. Whether I can afford another one is another matter. Ray
  17. Perhaps at this juncture in changes of management at Hornby, assuming that someone new is in post and that they look at these posts on RMWeb, they will now stick their hand up and say: 'We have seen and noted these comments and will take action to correct the problem.' Not over hopeful, but you never know. Ray
  18. Might be worth seeing what is available in the Hornby shop at Westwood adjoining the visitor centre. Sometimes they have boxes of one item for clearance in there. I can recall seeing a load of the Oxford Janus diesels in there a couple of years ago, unboxed, just in the 'ice cube' packaging. All the best Ray
  19. Studying the details, looks like some overlap between the K and L classes. So if Rapido are contemplating one of those they could possibly get two different bodies to go on one standard chassis.
  20. I recall that the Hornby 4 wheeled Sentinel shunter was available in two versions: one with coupling rods and one without. (Mechanical and Hydraulic ?) What's available now and price wise I would not have a clue. All the best Ray
  21. The two preserved ones, Sharpthorne on the Bluebell Railway and Charwelton on the Kent and East Sussex Railway would make lovely examples. The former I think is a K and has dumb buffers and was first used as a contractors loco on the Great Central, then used on building the Bluebell line itself. The second may be an L. There is of course the one the SE & CR had for use in Folkestone another K ? This was bought by the SER, operated under the SE & CR in full Wainwright livery, then battleship grey, but unfortunately lost its chimney cap and looked a bit drab and dire. It was seconded to Hawkhurst during WW1 as station shunter, presumably during the hop-picking season, but was not successful. Then the two on the Isle of Wight. Freshwater, Yarmouth and Newport Railway K. Bembridge branch BEMBRIDGE. possibly L. From memory, this was called up for military service during WW1 and got sent to Mesopotamia. I think that the K type had at least four cab options to choose from, ranging from just a basic front spectacle plate to fully enclosed. That's a little bit to think about. I wonder which type it will be ?
