  1. Belpaire version would have had a wider period and geographic range, arguably.
  2. I appear to have the title theme from Nationwide, circa 1975 as an earworm this morning...

Yep. Very basic it is too, but it's a starting point to an interesting machine. Circa 1921 blue of course!

No real interst in the Western, but as I was given the Lima equivalent as a gift from my uncle in 1978, I quite fancy a blue one. Best livery they ever wore... Dave.

  8. Astonishing in this day and age to think that a line closure would dominate the entire front page of a paper in the way this story does in the photo. I guess it's an indication of the strength of local feeling. Dave.

Only remembering a well liked station and railway section gents. 7th was the closure date, keep yer Alans on, wasn't linking it to the Armistice! Just something some Caley folk found of interest.

      Agree Dave

I haunted Buch St after school in 65 and have many memories of A4s and Standard 5s setting off into the night under the semaphores.

65B too every Sunday..I still have a shed plate taken fresh from the scrap line..great memories. Sunday..

  22. For EM modellers, these aren't quite the drop-in wheel change we've become accustomed to on recent wagons from this source but a few minutes work with a milling bit in a power tool gives acceptable clearance for Gibson wheelsets. You need to remove most of the web that connects the brake shoes either side of the wheel. It probably wouldn't hurt to skim a little from the brake shoes either but I'd consider that discretionary. Dave.
