  1. I think it probably had more to do with the CIA tbh. Davy.
  2. Well, I assume these will be on the way soon too. I've changed my address guys though I think I did make you aware previously unless I'm having unusually vivid dreams! Davy.
  3. I did note your observations, David, fair enough. None of them are of massive concern to me and will be dealt with. Quite surprised they modelled the rear cab windows raised as you rarely ever see them that way on any locomotive, let alone V2s. Easily put right if you're inclined to DIY fixes. Davy.
  4. Whatever issues there are with the finish will be academic when mine morphs into 60813 under a coat of 1965 64A grime...
  5. DVLA; 6 months I've been waiting for my renewed licence. Can't even update my address details despite having moved home.

Sort it out people, this has gone on too long!

Bizarre.  Am 73 in Nov and had 'invite' to renew licence just before Bank Hols.  Request submitted online Tue 24Aug.  I was worried how long it would take due to publicity about backlogs at DVLA.  Licence arrived Bank Hol Sat 28Aug.  As an aside, they ask you to cut up old licence and send it off.  There's no way they could have received it and cross-checked it against new licence as new one was in my hands before old one got to Swansea.

Anything that requires the DVLA to actually make a decision is a joke. The DVLA is just there to take money off people. Look at photocard driving license. They said it would be free, and it is, but they charge you for the renewals. There are lots of PCV/HGV drivers waiting on them, but the Government has made sure that the DVLA cannot be liable for loss of earnings. No private company would get away with it.

Ironically, the licence arrived the day after I posted this. Now I need to change the address details!

I still appear to have a previous one around. I may send this and hope they don't notice as I'm not going through that faff again. Mainly because I need to regularly present it at work!

  6. I would certainly be interested in one, perhaps a pair
  7. Which year? Asking for a friend...
  8. True, but it'll also be £50 more expensive than a hypothetical Accurascale version...
  9. Would have been nice to see them tearing up through Strathmore and into the Mearns.
  10. I remember when Hornby said they would release a model of a Std 2MT 2-6-0...
  11. 666gm? That's a bit of a Beast...
  12. I reckon you couldn't miss with a Black Five, guys. Plenty of useful variants; the Class 37 of the late Steam era. Davy.
  13. I'm truly astonished at the lack of discussion/ anticipation on display for this loco. It's been on my radar for 41years! Guess it was just me getting excited then ... Davy
  14. Good to see you're still plugging on, Chris. For my part I've been flying under the radar, getting my gaff sold and finding a new one, whilst circumnavigating all the other brown stuff of the last few years! I should be moving in a few weeks now so not long till I start badgering you for those Barclay etches I kept banging on about! All the best, mate. Davy
  15. As previously stated, this could be a stack off mis-fills or rejects stashed in the corner of a yard, perhaps of a feed merchants and kept for say local customers who perhaps only take a handful of bags for a smallholding or the likes Davy.
  16. Oh, I'm pretty sure there are advanced, intelligent civilisations out there. Probably intelligent enough to lock their doors as they fly through Earth space... Davy.
  17. Probably smuggled out piece by piece, Johnny Cash style by now... Davy
  18. Very nice. Are you any further on with the GN tender for the K3, by the way? Davy
  19. Fantastic I have a few of these to do myself. If you have a spare half dozen castings at the end... Davy.
  20. At Bachmann prices I think I'll be sticking with Parkside. Davy
  21. One thing I noted from a Peter Handford recording of an A2/2 was the considerable big end noise when under power. Might be worth exploring. Davy.
  22. I have finished both '522 Straight Deal and '519 Honeyway. I got both out into the daylight today for their 'Yard Portrait' today, seeing as the weather and sun elevation is now good enough for such things. I'm well pleased with these two as this is the first 'Big Steam' I've done in a while. Davy
