Goodnight Olivia. Such a lovely genuine person.

When attempting to send a letter to an address in Germany yesterday, I now find that instead of an 'EU destination' stamp, I now have to put three separate stamps on the envelope, to the total value of £1.45. Of course, there is no £1.45 stamp. You need one for £1.42, then one for 2p and (incredibly, they still exist) one for 1p.
Is this some kind of Bre*it-related farce, I wonder?

I wanted to order some French wine from a supplier a couple of weeks ago and was told that there would be delay due to it being "held up at Dover" - well I guess that's progress! I wonder how long it will be before we are only permitted to take £25.00 in sterling when visiting "the continent"! What a load of b......s!

Rest in peace Peter.

Why is it, during weather like this, when good, upstanding folk need to have their windows open, that some anti-social barsteward finds an urgent need to have a bonfire?

Congrats to Network Rail Euston for providing the homeless with food and some essential goods. What a bloody fine gesture.

Kim took me to Corfe / Swanage today for my birthday treat. Steam, fish and chips and a walk on the beach with the dogs. Now at home in front of the wood burner with a large G&T, pretty much perfect day really!

As the £ sinks the band plays on, even though we still haven't yet hit the iceberg.

Just watched 'To the Manor Born' on the Yesterday channel and noticed that at a scene at the local station the TV channel had blurred out an old Jimmy Saville British Rail poster!

You are not alone..... Speaking as a 61 year old who has full NI paid up and now struggling to get work. Then finds that DWP do not have to give me any money!

Anyone got the link to a GWR loco allocations website, I can only find BR.

Wondering if it would in fact be easier just to build new EM chassis for RTR locos than to convert them.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Bath experience at the weekend and it seems everything scrubbed up nicely thank you

There he Go-ves, There he Go-ves, There he Go-ves! And Morgan too. But who do we get as a replacement?

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks, Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge, Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs And towards our distant rest began to trudge. Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind; Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.

I have officially banned, by Supreme Decree, the word 'awesome'.

Never tires of hearing the Robert Fripp guitar riff on Bowie's Heroes.
