Last minute delivery in Scoonie hobbies today when I was in of Dwight D Eisenhower that's just made my Xmas😁

    Excellent news!

The BR green versions do look stunning.

Waiting for my pre-ordered Union of South Africa and Dwight D to appear in the NY.

    Enjoy!

I've got three of the things* (Railroad, TTS and Train pack), I don't need another, not that I would buy an over inflated faux "Hornby Dublo" offering anyway....

    * I still haven't decided on names for the other two, can't have 3 DoGs running about and bumping into each other!

But can you seriously compare a design clever version with all it's compromises to a retooled HD model?

To clarify however while warranty may not apply we can and will provide support and would always recommend anyone’s first contact after their provider/seller is ourselves. We maintain extensive stock levels of all parts and can provide same on request even if models are out of warranty.

"We maintain extensive stock levels of all parts and can provide same on request even if models are out of warranty".

Something another major player should take notice of.

    Well done all at Accurascale!

    Thanks for the heads up.

Is this Hornby's standard practice now? Announce a pre-order item and up the price by 20% (or 10% twice) before it arrives into stock. What purpose does it serve, other than to highlight their incompetence in pricing their own products?

Personally, I buy very few Hornby products now save two HD A4's that are currently on pre-order.

When you actually compare the value for money/quality and fixed pricing from Accurascale, Rapido and others, it's a no brainer.

Hornbys pricing policy is the reason why many items remain unsold and end up heavily discounted at retailers!

Totally agree. Problem is, now that Hornby have displayed those silly lamps in the showcase at Warley, there is no going back, without eating a huge slab of humble pie. But they could easily say "We listened to our customers, and have decided not to proceed with the lighting arrangements.

Hornby could easily place a bit of positive spin and say  "we are dropping the plans for the lighting and can announce that the planned RRP will be reduced because of our decision".

I can see these ridiculous lamps, which totally spoil a fantastic offering from Hornby being ditched.

    IMHO, no bad thing!

It does make you question why the Turbomotive has already been subject to unprecedented reductions so soon after release.

Along with being a niche item, could it be that potential customers don't want these oversized gimmicks?

Black 5 first decoration samples were shown on  Hornby’s YouTube live stream today, looking pretty good from what could be seen.

Apparently the lamp arrangement is  being worked on this week so hopefully we’ll see changeable lamp codes on the production models

Good to see that Hornby are listening to potential purchasers and are working on a remedy.

    Well done!

However the staff on the Hornby stand at the weekend knew nothing about it at all.

    New staff possibly?

Seems somewhat strange as the Caprotti 5 was announced at the same time as the other three BF locos.

Agree - if a manufacturer is going to interact it needs a plan and to do it wholeheartedly and well or not at all. That said, done well I think it does generate sales - I have a Manor that really doesnt fit in with my theme at all and am contemplating a J69, a Brush Type 2 and Class 50 all because of how well a company 'engages' .

    Great minds think alike.

I've ordered all of the above + the VXC Deltic Royal Scots Grey in BR Green.

    Enjoy!

They are indeed :) They are in the studio for their glamour shots, hence due imminently (in terms of online)

Those who attended GETS at the weekend would have had the opportunity to inspect them in person 👍

Just a quick question for you please re the next release Deltics.

Will they feature the updated bogie chains?

    TIA.

I’ve not understood Accurascale’s decision to focus their attentions elsewhere, the class 66 announcement over a 40 was simply bizarre.  When I was a basher in the 80s the accepted holy trinity in terms of popularity were 55s, 52s, and 40s.  Hopefully accurascale rectify this omission imminently!

Im on the project team for the CFPS for the KR model and I too await with a mixture of excitement and trepidation!  We have fed back on certain key aspects of differences between class members, we too want an accurate model.

Maybe the choice of a 66 offering was due to taking on the former Hattons offering, with the intention of adding a few tweaks?

Purchasing the tooling makes good business/economic sense

It was already an excellent model, I'm pretty sure Accurascale will deal with the original issues before the model is re released.

Excellent news that you're on project team and are providing feed back to KR models.

I've recently purchased the Bachmann D213 Andania and can conclude that it's a fine model.

An Accurascale 40 will most likely follow at some stage, fingers crossed!

What we haven’t been told - and presumably won’t be - is how many of the six have previously been done in RTR.

Why exactly would Accurascale tell all and sundry what their future plans/release schedule as it doesn't make good business sense?

The Rails V Hornby Terrier duplication immediately springs to mind!

Additionally, even if a particular model has been done or is indeed current with another manufacturer, does it really matter?

From what I've seen so far, Accurascale have an excellent business acumen and I'm pretty certain they wouldn't produce a particular model if it wasn't going to sell.
