  1. Sorry to resurrect this thread, but it seams most appropriate. I've been looking for OO scale hire plates for my model and can't seem to find any. Has anyone else had some or know of who does them please?
  2. Like Legend and caradoc I'm sure, in the Glasgow area, it's down to the annual visit of Model Rail Scotland if you want to buy things direct in person. So it was doubly hard as it has been cancelled and the venue used as a hospital. Hopefully back with vengeance next year.
  3. Managed to get back to the loft layout this weekend, so finally got to use my Xmas presents and recreated one of the iconic triple headers.
  4. That is also my exact situation. Was on the list of things to do, got all the chassis ready, just have to do the sides. Then out they come r-t-r! So yes, a set, post war after they went into general stock is my plan for the Comet conversions. Neil
  5. Nice to compare, only things I see are window bars and curtain representation. Maybe slightly different equipment on the underframe. Neil.
  6. Got the track out again and put the lights on. Nice and subtle.
  7. Yes, they all have lighting. Interestingly the pickups on the RK have caused it to lock an axle as the wiper catches on a dimple on the inside of one wheel. Have bent it back in the meantime. Got more coaches coming today it turns out. Edit: turns out it's just the RTO today. Neil.
  8. So in this package today, got the BFK, BTK, RK and FK. So that's 3 57' and 1 50'. Not going to get to run them until the end of the month, but they look great, the separate details on the roof are particularly well done.
  9. Delivery of four coaches today. First impressions are good, no bits falling off, some very interesting close couplings and gangway connectors as extras. Rest of coaches on Monday. Does anyone want pictures? Neil.
  10. I have an old MTK based 59 with a Mainline 56 motor bogie. With the white metal body it can handle quite a bit! See example below. Neil.
  11. Who runs the business these days? Haven't been to Carlisle in a decade, so it was Michael and his wife at that point. Good memories of the Aladin's Cave up the narrow stairs! Neil
  12. Just managed to pre-order them all including RFO which I had to search for separately. Suspect a few website glitches still. E.g. also not in the list of releases were the Mk4 DVT and HST DVT, but the Mk3 DVT re-release was. Again we will wait and see what gets fulfilled! Neil.
  13. For those interested in Scottish Region, an ex-BR Class 02 worked in a scrapyard (Arnott-Young) just outside Glasgow near the Erskine Bridge. Livery was all over yellow by that time, survived until mid-eighties.
  14. I'm afraid I was ahead of you in time, but I got my Mk4 DVT and HST DVT cancelled on me. I still have the new IC livery 91 and 14-car APT on pre-order so we'll have to see what happens with them! Good luck everyone, that's what it seems to be down to! Neil.
  15. Hello, Took advantage of the recent sale of these ploughs and got a Motherwell pair, with just a number change to make a proper pair. Was a bit disappointed in the running quality. No pinpoint axles, fair enough for taking shaper curves, but no bearings at all, just a plastic slot. The amount of axle drag is crazy. If you push them they barely roll twice their length before they squeel to a halt. Worth the discounted price, but not the £43 rrp. Neil.
  16. Well, what a nice little model. Except when I ran mine for the first time today, it would only run backwards, as running it forwards means the motor doesn't engage with the gears. Will look through the thread to see if there are any other similar problems. Pity.
  17. Going to use my old one as a nose up, being towed version. I'm guessing the new one won't do that. Also hope there is plenty of room for DCC sound. Bif said the 87 was a backwards step in that regard.
  18. Having read through the full thread, I was more than happy to pre order one today. All bells and whistles as well, as Bif's sounds never disappoint! Thank you both for grabbing the initiative on this.
  19. He is still pretty active on YouTube I've noticed. I would of been keeping a very low profile if I were him.
  20. Have to mention again, that the speed and quality of service from Wizard was top knotch. Puts many bigger box shifters to shame. Well done Andrew (Major Clanger). Neil.
