  1. You can contact Vectis and they will have a look for you. Very helpful folk there. Even take some extra pics for me in the past. I could almost Guarantee they are 'complete' Kits from an estate or clearance.
  2. Just down the Road from you so no Postage charges. Doubt they will go for much as Traders don't like Coach Kits....too niche. http://www.vectis.co.uk/d039-lot-990376-comet-models-oo-group-of-coach-kits?display=grid&el=990376&header_id=0&keyword=&lo=ASC&pn=1&pp=96 All the best Philth
  3. Way back in time December 2008, I worked at Wilkos Distribution in Worksop for a few weeks (yes it was that sh1te and a big mistake). All 'ordinary' Staff were supposed to leave via the Security Turnstiles; (yes actual Turnstiles but with Scanners etc.plus pat down by Guards). Almost all did, however 'product loss' was common. I did once, just before stuffing it, officially remove some folding type Pallets, destined for the Allotment. I had a special letter of Permission from the Management. It wasn't that easy getting Pallets down my Pants. Briefly, I also did a stint on the Inwards Lorry Bay. It was vile too, with loony FLT Drivers racing around like F1 Qualifying. If any Pallets (always wrapped) appeared as tampered with (some were obvious as the Driver reported theft on arrival; Layby or Truck Stop, Canvas sided jobs), you had to count the missing amount by careful estimation of the missing space! I just couldn't get my head around that, whereas my Trainer could do it in seconds! Thus I am just saying that causal Theft must be quite easy, as is 'extra production'. Imitation has been rife for Centuries. The Chines have built their empire on it, as have some other parts of Asia. Don't go near TEMU (allegedly) goods shown on FB. You name it and its been faked! Thanks for highlighting this. I would NEVER have suspected any Model Stuff being sold as fake...except if it was on certain 'selling sites'. Phil
  4. I'm not SHELLing out on one of those. However I believe the real thing will look OK from what I have heard. P
  5. Just received my D1479, Post 1961, Value Weathered version. Number 220 of 250. It is ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. A great collaboration between yourselves and Accurascale. I feel lucky to be able to purchase this (and my other Triple Pack earlier) but working for almost 60 years has given me that ability. Thank you all. Phil TMC photo. I think this is the version I have?
  6. A single D1479, Post 1961 example arrived today, from the TMC collaboration collection. I have number 220 of 250. IT IS ABSOLUTELY SUPERB. It's only a 'Value Weathering' version, but that is subtle and very acceptable. Better that my efforts I'm sure. Neat size, tough and beautifully printed Box; very well packaged, as have been all my Triple Sets. Neatly wrapped in Tissue, presumably after Weathering? A big thank you and congratulations to the two Companies for getting together on these projects. I have had Horse Boxes from TMC in the past and they were excellent. This Van however, is a notch above. Phil
  7. I wonder if anyone with a fixed rake will attempt to join up the bagpipes? Under new (well sort of) Management Rob! P
  8. There's a message in there somewhere bas! P
  9. 1963... got to be a special then? 6 Bells site search perhaps? No sign 1958 to 1964. Some sort of publicity/ film effort? P
  10. Is it possible that there is a source of Barriers closer to hand John, or does that add hugely to the cost? Council? Racecourse? P
  11. I hope you realised I was being and seem to have failed to be, a bit miffed by another's rather duff comment, about no layouts from 'August' 1985? Cheers, Phil
  12. I hope you realised I was being rude about a naysayer and my Spams comment was a joke? Thus you told me about the Lego Layout, that nobody else has mentioned? If not, do search for the comment I was annoyed about about 10 pages back. It just seemed so narrow minded and mentioned nothing else at all, after all your hard work. When I used to help Geoff Brewin at the show, it was easily the best I ever managed to get to. From the majority of posts here, it is living up to that and more. Cheers Phil
  13. Prep for a United run to the smoke for a Cup Final. Only reason. P
  14. Gilbert, I hear that you are selling up and Buying Lincoln City FC, ready for their Promotion to the Championship. Congratulations dude, but will miss your layout and the jolly banter. If you could spare a couple of those Tress I'm in. A. Prilfool
  15. Struggling with this one about (adopt sad and lonely voice) "...went to the show and nothing attracted my attention etc..." Uh! Really? Even if there wasn't a Layout based in 1985 or 1885 or whatever it was, you saw nowt that was interesting? What the ### have people go to do to make you smile? Anyway, thanks for the comments and especially the great photo's. Absolutely amazing Mr. Ididn'tseeaBulleidPacificbutIdon'tcare. P.S (Edit) This isn't about me as I very much regret that I couldn't go.
  16. Some would say that Oakey has been asleep for decades. Made me smile Rich. Thank you. P
  17. Try Clive Mortimore or Steve Pearce both at the Show on Layouts. May not be but both are into that at the moment.
  18. Ref. that Brake Van. Even just adding Dave Frank's Buffers to a Kit can enhance it by a good %age. Of course I probably need to check carefully which Buffers are OK but I have a basic Knowledge. Phil
  19. Again, for the weirdly thinking and going on about eligibility for that Blue! Its a 'cover coat' for protection only. It may be an Undercoat as a blue like this is excellent for under a BR Green. AS someone so kindly pointed out earlier, you don't do a full Paint job UNTIL its' proven and passed 100%. I'd love to see this on the York to Carnforth Route. Or fast south of York; that would be interesting. It must be in top condition after the outfit that have sorted it released it for Trials. Brilliant Engineers. Phi
