  1. Brian, what is the current status of Abercynon Fach? Is it still on the exhibition circuit? If so when and where is its next outing? Tim T
  2. An alternative, albeit more expensive, would be to buy the complete Comet 56xx chassis kit? Tim T
  3. Mousa Models, aka Bill Bedford, do a set of replacement 3d-printed replacement parts to revive old Mainline split chassis. Haven't tried them myself yet. Tim T
  4. Just watch out for the sheep, daffodils and dragons. also keep an eye out for the Penderryn Welsh whiskey - it's addictive Tim T
  5. Well in my case I ordered two sets of 4mm transfers on April 23rd. He states on his website allow up to 4 weeks for delivery. By my reckoning we are now at 8 weeks and no transfers and no response to two emails chasing up the orders. A most unsatisfactory situation, especially as noone else does these particular transfers Tim T
  6. Re POWSides I too am awaiting a response to two emails re a missing order, mine being placed in April! Tim T
  7. Assuming that you're working in 4mm I can heartilly recommend Lanarkshire Model Supplies, both from quality of products and service. Tim T
  8. Absolutely superb modelling from someone whose interests lie in celtic coal producing valleys
  9. My personal experience is that old-fashioned snail mail and cheque works well with them Tim T
  10. Your mystery items may be the four collars that were dropped over the coach buffers to "extend" them when the buckeye cuoplers weren't in use or the coach was at the end of the train? The buffers would be pulled out and a collar dropped on top of the shank Tim T
  11. As the OP of the blog referenced at the start of the thread may I say how impressed I am with what you have achieved here.. Well done and more power to your soldering iron Tim Tumber
  12. Top reinforce Grosvenor's comment, not only in signal boxes but anywhere where professional signal engineers are gathered together (having been one for 43 years)
  13. Andy do you want the bad news from a proffesional Signal Engineer? You've installed the facing point locks (the bits between the points) backwards! The rodding should come from the common end towards the switch tips, not from the switch heels. That is because there should also be a fouling bar to detect the presence of a vehicle within "x" feet of the switch tips. "X" is whatever lenght the longest distance betwee axles is for "your" railway
  14. Thanks for the replies, guys. Perhaps I should have used "TVR" instead of "taff vale" for my search term
  15. As the topic description says I'm searching for how long did the GWR keep Taff Vale Railway Goods Brake Vans going? Were they quickly phased out or did they survive to be repainted into GWR colours? I've already drawn a blank searching the RMweb forums TIA Tim T
  16. Gents, but especially Mr Franks, will it work with EM? Tim T
  17. Looking at that picture it would be more like the fireman and not the driver who had to look out for the aspect, given that GWR drivers stood on the right and were thus on the opposite side of the loco to the signal
