  1. Has anyone fitted sound to thiers? If so what deoder / sound file is best? Looking around the loksounds appear to come with a speaker prefitted. Can this be used in conjunction with the prefitted one in the loco or should I cut the one off the decoder snd use the one already in the loco?
  2. I shall be visiting my local shop tomorrow to get my pre orders in for a 5 car APT and a TTS Blue 08. Umming and arring over a Hush hush, but it would be the BR version I had if any. Regards to the rest of the announcements... Dissapointed that there dosent seem to be much in the way of new TTS decoders - had hoped for class 25 or first gen DMU. Im sure Hornby work on these announcents several years in advance, so while duplication of the Class 91 is unfortunate Hornby possibly had theres in the works before cavalex announced theres. Possibly the same for the APT.
  3. Tgw only thing I saw with TTS was the 08
  4. apologies thought you meant the factory fitted sound
  5. he put one up already with an upgraded speaker
  6. Well I made a trip to trident trains, my first visit there. Well stocked shop, nice bloke behind the counter and best of all for me, open sundays
  7. Well I was going to ask if any shops open today..... but http://www.tridenttrains.co.uk/
  8. caught me out too I thought the ones the instructions refurred to were the others slightly udner the bogies but it tuened out to be they ones accessed through the bogie frames. On another note has anyone found there decoder dosent sit flat on the pins? Mine ( lens silver ) sits an angle. Checked pins aren't bent and the blanking plug goes back on perfect. Works fine tho just at an angle as I say
  9. No I ended up ordering off rails of sheffield
  10. That's a shame really as I quite like my 20, 25 and 47 which are in in green with full yellow end but with tops numbers. I had hoped to see a 08 in green with tops number. I also like blue with pre tops D number, im sure ive got a least a few of those, tho mostly Heljan - a class 26 being the last one I got
  11. In previous years ive worked in a 24 hour petrol station and have generally worked xmas day and boxing day ( both at minimum wage and no bonus for working those days ) This year I started a new job at the post office so haven't had chance to get out to a model shop as ive worked solid ( apart from sundays ) for over a fortnight. I knew the postal sevice got busier over xmas but I was amazed at how busy we were. So this year I really appreciate xmas day and boxing day off and was hoping to get a few bits to continue with my layout today.
  12. Yeah there all open 27th I think but im back at work then
  13. As title really, as I work at the post office there closed so a chance to visit a shop to spend my xmas cash. Are any open at all relatively close to stoke?
  14. Got mine last week. Runs great but theres 4 screws not mentioned in the instructions if you want to get the body off to DCC it.
  15. For an item worth £153 you wont be covered if its damaged or lost with 'signed for' You need Special delivery which will cover you upto £500.
  16. Got my 24/1 today. Nice model and seems to be more detailed than previous release but im no expert. The chassis has been redesigned and now has a built in speaker. The headcode boxes are lit via cables connected to the pcb, no more of those copper contacts like on the 25. Theres switches on the bottom to disable head / tail lights and theres a cab light too. Quick note with regard to DCC fitting, The instructions say 6 screws in total to remove the body - I had to remove 10, theres 4 not mentioned in the instructions. I removed the blanking plug and fitted a lenz silver. The decoder dosent sit flush on the pins. At first I thought id bent the pins getting the blanking plug off but it went back on no issue, but the lenz chip still sits at an angle. However it still works fine. Under DCC control the lighting for each end can be controlled indepenantly and with the lenz chip its F0 for one end, F1 for the other, F3 shunt mode, F5 cab lights.
  17. Can anyone confirm the DCC socket its got? For anyone wanting to hear the sound digitrains did a short video but World of railways also had a breief demo of the sound when andy y did a video showing the progress of the upcoming models, I think it was around june time
  18. I agree ive used them many times on ebay. When I looked they had the 24/1 in stock but at £180, hence me wondering of it was a mistake given the RRP of £150
  19. I paid 199.99 for the sound fitted NSE 101 from rails earlier this year. Other retaillers still have them for a similar price so like you say they haven't shifted very quicky
  20. Pleased to say my DCC93 arrived and fits the 05 like a dream. Runs nice too
  21. Really tempted by a sound fitted model. Also tempted by the 24/1 you have in stock but not sure if the price is a mistake or not.
  22. Bachmann actually sent some pre production samples out the the people building layouts on the great model railway chellenge. The 24/1 was there as was the western pullman
  23. The DCC23 has always been my 6 pin decoder of choice both with n gauge and 00 locos. My latest loco to need a decoder is a Heljan 05. My local shop only has the newer DCC93 decoders and hopefully there as good as the DCC23 However if they turn out to be dcc concepts rebadges ill be disappointed as the dcc concepts decoders of late have been very disappointing with stop start jerky performance. That's both the 8 and 21 pin versions. I tried the 21 pin version in more than 1 loco as well to be sure it wasn't the loco. So are these definatly not dcc concepts rebadges?
