Night headlight in one end on one of my 66’s would stay on all the time. Eventually I found that the circuit board underside was shorting in the motor body. Couple of pieces of insulation tape on top of the motor sorted the problem.

The sound on Hattons 66 is the best rtr from any manufacturer on the British market as far as I’m concerned. Recently Bachmann has produced great models of the 158/159/121/117 but the speakers are weak.

Once the axle boxes are glued to the bogies that’s the end of the problem forever. I can’t see the rotation unless I really look for it anyway but as long as everyone enjoys them that’s the main thing

Pot luck. I know the ones I got wobbled like a rocking horse but I wasn’t concerned as I modify the axle boxes anyway.

I have in the last couple of weeks bought 5 Class 66’s in the £95 to £119 price range. I check them by setting them on a piece of glass and everyone of them sat very unstable and also ran with a wobble. So I removed all axle boxes and they would then sit perfectly and run excellently. I then glued the axle boxes into the side frame and cut the excess off at the back. I now have the 5 best running locomotives that look fantastic compared to the other versions available at bargain prices granted without rotating axle boxes and 20 minutes work each.

Any updates available as to when the new Transpennine run will be available? Thanks for any info in advance.

I think your current announcement tactics/program is pretty much as good as any model company. Just don’t get into the two year plus drag like some companies. Then rumours of vapourware start to tarnish a company’s image very quickly and customers confidence in the brand drops.

Believe it or not I had that one in my basket at 6am on Tuesday morning but bottled it! Looks great.
