  1. Excellent a good day then. Clare would share Sharon concerns about lots of visitors - she looks after us very well on our neddy nights. IKB looks great too, that would fit in well with the 70s scenes well. Must stop getting Railfreight liveries - but they look so great on 56 / 37 / 47 dont they?
  2. Hope the open day is going well mate. We'll raise a glass to you later in Snozzle braving fierce winds and lashing rain.
  3. That's the Heljan / Bachmann set, various Lima & Hornby ones about too. The ones you see are the core fleet though.
  4. A new birthday arrival 47301 stands in the loco spur in the background whilst the rest of the class 47 fleet resides in the sidings for a photo call.
  5. My layout will be in issue 193 of Model Rail

  6. My layout will be in issue 193 of Model Rail - hope you can check it out!

  7. My layout will be in issue 193 of Model Rail - hope you can check it out!

  8. Thanks Jamie - just a subtle bit of road dirt. Talking of subtle.... The layout with be in the NEXT Model Rail! Issue 193 with my layout on the cover. To say I'm delighted is a bit of an understatement.
  9. The Polybulks were subject to some weathering powders recently As they came road dirt applied
  10. Thankyou Jamie for your kind comments. Firstly, I'm sorry if you're still waiting (as I am) for the layout to appear in Model Rail. The piece just seems to get postponed, I hope I will get some news about it appearing later in the year. I've still been busy though! The I Pad we had for Christmas is a cumbersome camera, but the lens being at the bottom of the device does allow for some eye - level shots. 45128 & 40169 head departures from Mount Charles 1010 rounds the curve on the viaduct with a stopper 45128 gets looked at from an inside angle for a change Yogi's Thumper looks great on the viaduct Another view of the harbour & Thumper
  11. Hi Ian Thanks for wading through the topic! It's been great looking back sometimes at the layout in different stages of construction. Odd that it's all but complete..... what to do next? Hmm
  12. Loving all the new liveries - so different to the old BR I model.
  13. Hi Damian Glad you got your Polybulks, they are soooper. I have had a go at adding some road dirt to the weathered ones I have. I've left the Traffic Services logos almost intact. Are you getting any factory weathered ones? They've done a very good subtle job.
  14. The Polybulks have settled in nicely, and make a super addition to the air braked fest of wagons visiting the yard. 37417 Highland Region brings the rake around into the yard.
  15. Pleased to get Bachmann 47301 from Diesel Depot

  16. Yea - you too Rick. Slap something yummy on BBQ from us & I'll raise a glass of Tribute for you guys!
  17. Two Christmas "Speedlink" arrivals imminent. Todays tripper consisted of 2 x Bachmann Traffic services polybulks from Tinsley -Sheffield. These have been intercepted in to the UTCT pool (under the Christmas tree). The Portishead arrivals are due as well. No doubt coming south on the Bristol West Depot tripper. I hope your Polar Express on the Eve will bring yo all some railway related prezzies!
  18. OOh a couple of the excellent Bachmann Traffic Services Polybulks (Weathered) on the way from Santa, well, Rails of Sheffield. Hopefully Kernow may have a couple for me too!
  19. Hi again. SORRY to mess you all around, but Model Rail have postponed my layout article until issue 192 due to the big announcements. Will have to wait a bit longer Im afraid. Bah humbug!!
  20. Good luck with them. I notice on Fbook & alike a lot of the Cornsih layout guys have the new Polybulks with the lighter coloured middle portion. I am waiting for the Traffic Services ones. I dont recall the other types working in the Duchy? Unless they did, and were covered in grime & clay.
  21. Hi Rick - thanks for the interest. The article is definitely in issue 191, there's a preview picture in 190. This should be around Christmas time in the UK. My mate Yogi gets his on line - that may be sooner. I was surprized to see your festoon failed. I would have thought LEDs would be pretty bullet proof. I dont usually have mine lit, unless I have visitors. I hope you have more luck with the replacement batch mate. I must admit, I havent been on the layout much during 2014, been so busy with other stuff. I am looking forward to the Traffic Services Polybulks due in soon. I'm also planning a Bachmann 101 DMU for my birthday in January.
  22. Hi again - I was off nights at Liskeard. Mr Matthews (the bearded one) is the bobby in charge. Hey - well done on the BRM article. I'll check it out when I have a moment. Been on 10 nights....
  23. Confirmed that the layout will appear in issue 191, this should be around Christmas / New Year - a super present for me! A small picture features in the looking ahead bit in issue 190.
  24. Another whopper you need for the collection Damian!! 31190 & the railvac machine brought down from Doncaster for work on the Newquay branch. The class 31 returned light engine back to Taunton.
